Color Blindness Test: Post Your Results!

In case you haven't seen, Patrick posted this enlightening article in this week's Worth Reading about experiences with various games and colorblindness. The article also included a link to this pretty fun and short test to assess your own ability in distinguishing colors.

Pretty unscientific, of course. Any given monitor shows color differently, and I always have my brightness set as low as possible, so that could easily add to some confusion. Also, it is short, but I found myself saying, "good enough", rather than focusing and testing which may have given a better result.

Still, considering GB reps hardcore for our color challenged fellows, it seems fun if we shared our results. Here's mine:

I got 53, how colour blind am I?

I got a 14. Looked it over real good before submitting thinking it was perfect. Close enough.

Seems like I did pretty well.

I've always had a problem telling apart different shades of green. Not sure if this test confirms or denies it. ...and possibly blue / purple now?

I got a 12, but I feel like I could have gotten a perfect score if I had taken more time to closely examine every tile.

I just got a 0 — a perfect score. To be fair, I'm using a really nice monitor that is properly calibrated.

120 - Yep. That definitely verifies what I already knew. I'm totally colorblind.

That was quite possibly one of the most gruelingly-difficult tests I have ever taken. I started off fairly confident, when I finished the second line I felt discouraged, and by the third I was pretty sure I had completely failed.

Turned out I did a bit better than I thought I would've, though.

I got 3. Guess I not part of the colourblind club.

I kinda feel like this is highly dependent on your monitor.

I did half the test on my primary screen (TN panel), then moved the browser to my secondary monitor (IPS) and very easily noticed that I had placed a few wrong.

edit: huh... looking at all the other results posted, seems like a lot of people have trouble in that green zone.

I got pretty close I think. Everyone seems to mix up the green/blue

I had the exact same score, but it was the dark blues leading into the purple that tripped me up. Still, 4 seems like a nice number when compared to the other scores here.

I did this test a couple of years ago and I'm pretty sure I got a 7 that time. This time I got an 18. Not sure if it's issues with my monitor or my vision getting worse though.

Yeah, I had to get a waiver from the military for color vision deficiency. I'm willing to blame a little of this on my monitor, but it looks like I've still got it. I'm strangely kind of disappointed that I don't have the highest score so far. The amazing thing is that it took me 22 years and a failed military entrance physical to realize my color vision is messed up.

I have a nice big fancy monitor, so I'm sure that helped.

After trying pretty hard and feeling like my eyes got strained, I ended up with a score of 60. Sounds about right though, there are several overlapping hues and colors I have issues with.

I ended up with an 8 which I'm happy enough with I suppose. There pesky blue green area was giving me a tiny bit of trouble too. There were two that I didn't feel good about and kept flip flopping but neither way looked quite right. Probably was just one block that should have gone between them that was somewhere out of place.

I found it kind of disturbing how difficult it was to actually try and differentiate between 4 or 5 hues that looked practically identical.

Wait, I got an 85... But it looked pretty good. Not perfect, I kinda rushed, but still 85? That seems high. I've been living my whole life under the assumption that color blindness of any level ain't an issue for me, so if I've been wrong that whole time I'd be rather surprised.

It got a bit tricky here and there, though.

Oh god, what was that other video where they do a colour blind test where you have to order the colours in like, the order of the spectrum, and Vinny does it so badly that Rorie actually laughs out loud. I need someone to find that, it was even better.

Though Patrick putting his hands on his head in dismay is pretty great.

I got 230 and a headache from staring at it so long. I already know I'm red-green colour blind but I also don't have a great monitor.

I've never met another woman who has a color deficiency. Most don't even know they have it because everyone seems to think only males can have that issue. I had to actually ask my eye doctor so I could take the test whereas my brother was tested during one of his normal checkups (and he didn't even have it).

EDIT: Here's the result. Just a note that I have a rarer form of colorblindness that affects blues, purples, reds, greens, oranges, yellows, and pinks. It's mostly colors that have green or red in them. An example is that I can't tell the difference between red and yellow on traffic lights.

got a 11 found a lot of the lower tones to clash for me but not bad for a old man.

I got a 16. That certainly doesn't support my repeated claim that I'm partially colorblind. I do have issues with some greens/blues/yellows for sure though...

Hm... I got a 56, which is weird, because I've taken this same exact test before and gotten the result that I'm not color blind at all... I think it has more to do with laziness and it being 80 degrees in here but my dad is too cheap to turn on the AC "since it's the evening."

I did pretty good. I'm happy with the result.

I got a 0, which surprised me because I wasn't super sure on some of them. Regardless, I am now the standard by which all of you should judge yourselves.

I got a 4. It is silly that this doesn't give the average score for your demographic though

got an 8... I'll take it, my monitor is cheap which probably has everything to do with it.
