Fables is awesome btw- once the primary arc ends (which is a long way in) it kinda loses its place but its worth reading

Posted by L1GHTN1N

Happy to see Patrick enjoying 999, the true ending is still one of my favorites of the past decade or so. Also worth noting that to get the true ending you don't need to get every ending, skip the coffin ending as it's basically a giant cliffhanger and everything gets answer in the true ending; and if you're in a hurry you can probably skip the Submarine ending as well.

Virtue's Last Reward fixes a lot of the complaints he was having, I thought the puzzles were for the most part much better, can just tap X/A to move the text along and is much easier to jump around between paths; having just gotten a platinum on it last night I think I like it more than 999?

Every time.

This gif alone cheers me up every single time. But it's implication is even better

Nice to hear Patrick is enjoying 999. And, yeah, playing the rest of the endings with the spoiler free flowchart is the best option. Just go for the Safe Ending before the True Ending, and ignore the Coffin ending since it's just a truncated version of the true one and fully redundant.

And Virture's Last Reward is much improved mechanically, even includes its own flowchart. Just make sure to avoid saving in puzzle rooms if playing on a 3DS, else there is a risk of save game corruption.

I also just started with 999, it's suppose to be a novel with puzzle mechanics but the way it's written isn't very interesting to read. When characters talk it's fine but the game just describing what is happening at that moment doesn't really read like a novel. It's hard to get interested in the story.

So this is just a general thing right? We apply this to everything released on the site? Its what I do in my head. Also I laughed like a grown man

For everything really but the bombcast especially.

Sub 3 hour bombcast? How dare they!

Posted by kookoo

I give up with this podcast.

Posted by BlackLagoon

@Ravelle: I guess there is a lot of the characters summarizing what they've learned, especially at the start. The hook for me at least, was the mystery of who Zero is, why the Nonary Game is happening, who is responsible for the events of the various bad endings, etc., and as I played I grew to know the characters better and become more invested in their fates.

Also, usually the game gives you enough information to figure things out before the answers are fully revealed, so after a while I found it hard to stop since I just had keep playing to see if my suspicions were right.

does it go into major TWD spoilers? on middle of 3rd ep but had to restart. was hoping to listen to it with some torchlight ii or xcom but if they get into apoilers may just have to hunker down and finish TWD.

Posted by mellotronrules

@ripelivejam:

how deep into the 3rd episode did you get? they talk about a confrontation about midway through. otherwise, they don't speak to specific plot points.

thanks gaiz!!!

After experiencing my first bombcast last week, I couldn't believe what I was missing out on.

God, all this Mass Effect talk is bumming me out because I'm remembering how much I love Mass Effect as a series and how much I hate a lot of Mass Effect 3 as a game.

Also, PLAY SLEEPING DOGS, YOU FUCKS

We still want our Shark-Killing video!

Posted by vogon

man, Jeff's Wii Mini freakout at 1:54:00 is some quality business.

"NUMBER IN THE DOZENS" had me rolling.

Posted by edgeCrusher

@patrickklepek

If you don't like "Bad End," you'll be disappointed by Clock Tower.

Also, the true ending of 999 is horseshit. It doesn't actually explain anything in the main game, it simply plays out like an arbitrary chapter that takes place after the events of the main game. Cliche Japanese story telling bullshit.

Posted by Shingro

Every time I hear stories about riots, assholes, barbed wire and sports games I remember how the media says video games are turning our kids into sociopaths and killers.

yeeeeep

Posted by Undeadpool

@Shingro: Same thing with showing how the internet is causing children to "dehumanize" opponents. Yeah, go to a sporting event if you wanna see how REAL adults use the anonymity of sitting in a giant crowd...

I thought that sad the new Will. Was hoping for some executable action.

Posted by SpunkyHePanda

People pushed 999 too hard? So what? They're passionate about a game, and that makes you think it might not be worth playing?

Bombcast time whohoooo! :D

What shot in Walking Dead are they talking about? Spoiler tag it.

If I had to guess, it's the part where...

Kenny jumps from the balcony to the nearby rooftop, screw comes loose and the whole thing wobbles. I had Ben with me, and he was last to jump so shit went real bad for him, but I imagine if Ben is already dead, then nothing bad comes of it. No idea, though. Haven't looked up any alternate scenarios because I'm so attached to my personal story.

I don't think that's quite the part.

There's a part where you come across a broken out glass ceiling with zombies in the room below, and there's a bit of dialogue there. I think if Ben is already dead, that's where Kenny dies.
Posted by handlas

haha... I hate when they skirt around spoilers so much and I can't figure out what part they are talking about. I'm glad Jeff just straight up says whats up with Halo 4 when they kept skirting around the spoiler ... i was lost till he just came out and said it.

The Walking Dead sounds a lot like Alpha Protocol

Wow, I read this before I heard what you were referring to, and I had another image of what that "white fluid" was.

its not that they didnt push cortana hard enough, its that they approached cortana the wrong way throughout the entire series. i lost faith in the halo campaign on halo 2, and it has been terrible ever since.

multiplayer on the other hand has always been of the best..

Laughing so fucking hard right now at the Wii U USB save transfer conversation.

Brad: what.. whaaat.. what the fuuuck? what the FUCK?
