TNT Let's Go Bowling ENDURANCE RUN!

Posted by RE_Player1

I hate when they bring up The Fly. That movie fucked me up as a kid.

Edited by AV_Gamer

Want to watch movies at 60fps? Download the free open source codec called SVP: Smooth Video Project.

Personally, I love it.

WARNING: Must have a powerful PC to use it.

i've TRIED that, and variants of it, but for some reason the settings always get fucked up on their own after a few weeks. can't see what the hell's causing it, basically have to delete everything and restart again and even then it doesn't work well. i'll post my system specs later if that helps (lol)

If I search youtube in a week and don't see the wig bowling segment just posted on it's own there, I'm going to be rather bothered. That was amazing.

"that's where he wrestles the plane isn't it?"

Absolutely awesome podcast. I love the new theme.

Also, fuck wig bowling! Keep it real.

Let me tell you of old games... Have you ever seen Space Harrier on the MZ-700?

Still has more colors than the ZX Spectrum.

Yeah... But can you SEE what's going on?

Well, yeah. He's harrying. He's harrying space. He's harrying it real good.

Is he? Is he really? And where IS he? Who even KNOWS what the music sounds like in the game??? My point is; you and I knows what Space Harrier looks like, but would someone who didn't know what it is supposed to be, be able to visually interpret the game?

I grew up on the Atari 2600, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. That's clearly a dude, and he's harrying, well, the sky (not space), over a field of pink dirt, next to a big pipe from Super Mario Bros.

Or it's Superman.

Awesome THQ and next gen business discussion. Professional video game men here.

new intro? sounds great!

Wig Bowling.

Fuck this wishy washy resentment shit. Go deep on this motherfucker.

Posted by pyromagnestir

Oh god. Now I'm going to have to go hunt down the GI Joe movies...

Posted by UberExplodey

Alright, so "Hey" to the duder in Macungie. I know where that place is! My sympathies to you as Ryan fucked up the pronunciation of your hometown.

Anyone know of an alternative download link for the bombcast? The wifi I'm using at the place I'm staying for the next few weeks lets me visit the sight and download the videos, but the podcasts are restricted for some reason :( also I can't access the iTunes store.

Posted by kerse

Isn't the slender man a creation of the internet? I think the thread is still on something awful where it was created.

Posted by blueinferno

Is anyone else just listening to the new intro over and over again? I love it, that is permanent ring tone worthy.

Posted by Tactless

Thank god they brought up the "good" version of crash, no one on the pc group mumble ever took me seriously when I brought how "good" it was.

Nah, he's totally German folklore dude. He's been around since the early 15th centuryeah yeah he is.

Really loving the new intro music.

THEY WERE WRONG ABOUT THE ARKENSTONE #2013

I wonder what I'm thinking of then, there was definitely something like this that happened.

Posted by AV_Gamer

Live streaming bowling please? TNT's for video games are constant. Seeing you guys make a fool of yourselves bowling is rare.

Posted by jackbugs

@Itwastuesday: Yeah. Might make for some fun podcasting though, when, as the next two films release, and Arkenstone references ramp up, they begin to do double and triple takes. The frustration will be palpable; "What the fuck is going on with this Arkenstone bullshit man? Fucking Jackson man, is nothing sacred?...".....

...

*que research*.....

...

"Ohhhhhh....."

...

(yeah it's kinda central to the Dwarves motivation, and hence the Hobbit as a full piece, but hey, no ones pretending to be a Hobbit scholar here, so fuck it)

I'm going to go hang myself because I don't even know what retina display is. Bye guys.

Posted by bnpederson

Okay, so they're likely going to either Yerba Buena (http://www.skatebowl.com/) or Lucky Strike (http://www.bowlluckystrike.com/) for bowling at my guess. (I think Mission Bowling Club and Presidio Bowling are a bit off the path from where Gamestop is headquartered.) Yerba Buena is the closest but Lucky Strike looks to be positioning for parties more from its website. Thoughts?

Leaning into Idle Thumbs is the correct decision.

I kid you not, that video was the first time I have ever seen space harrier. I could pick out that you play as a dude with a jetpack that shoots... shapes or something but thats all. Also that music was someting else.

That is a cool intro. When did it change? I didn't listen to the GOTY stuff so I imagine it happened then.

Actually It was the previous one, but you don't get an intro on a video podcast.

Man I hope one day Jeff will realize Red Dead Redemption is far and away Rockstar's best game. (and the best game of the generation)

and uhhhhhhh its the CHAOS DUNK Patrick.

Posted by Hunter5024

Patrick was able to phrase the Frog Fractions love during Game of The Year in a way that made it a little easier to understand. I've always viewed personal top ten lists as what an individual considers their actual favorite games, determined by examining the games' objective qualities through the lens of the person's own tastes, biases, and preferences. If instead you are judging the game not by its objective qualities, but by the actual experience it facilitated, than the choice doesn't seem so far fetched. Saying Frog Fractions is one of the best games of the year still sounds ridiculous, saying it was one of the best experiences you had with a game all year is completely reasonable. A little context makes all the difference in the world.

On that note I'd say that Jeff's idea for doing personal top ten lists in podcast form for 2013 is brilliant. It would grant that context for the listener, it would allow us to see the staff's reaction to each other's lists, and honestly I think the discussion that would come out of that would be far more interesting than whatever two sentence blurb they write to accompany their choice in the videos they currently use.

Jeff Gerstmann Ultimately I don't think the Amiga can be understood from games alone. Gaming, Programming, Demos were all connected (originally via cracking and intros of course). Many demo scene people then moved into game development when they grew up and entered the work force. Since I'm from Sweden I just point at Digital Illusions/DICE where people are still active in the demo scene to this day.

Jeff's Red Dead hate is so fucking bizarre. The mechanics in that game were fantastic.

I actually just finished it for the first time. There's a lot to like but there are large sections of that game that are FUCKING BORING. The pacing was all over the shop. It was awesome, then boring, then awesome, then boring. I feel like the GTA games did a much better job of maintaining fun and excitement throughout.

You're wrong. You're just seeing everything that annoys you about those games in this one. Happened to me with GTA IV. Hated that goddamn game.

I loved that goddamn game so there you go!

Agreed. Love GTA IV and liked Red Dead but didn't love it for exactly that reason. The pacing is absolutely horrible and every time that game made me do another fucking cattle herding mission I wanted to shut that shit off and never play it again.

I thought GTA4 was one of the most disappointing games in this generation for me. The singular title that made me buy a 360 and yet everything in it from the god awful story that meandered left and right without a purpose, to the terrible pseudo-realistic driving physics which had no place in a fun arcadey game made me constantly shake my head and sigh as I forced myself to finish it. On top of that the ending, which might have been cool and poignant in a 2hr movie but after 15-20hrs of gameplay felt like "haha get it all for nothing END" jesus. At least Red Dead had a great ending.

All subjective opinions though etc.

As Idle Thumbs taught us years ago, the best game podcasts always go on Jeff Goldblum tangents at least once in their existence. I'm glad the Bombcast has joined such elite ranks at long last.
