A good fan of NIS would probably try to sell you on Disgaea, but honestly, I really do believe it's only for about 1% of the gaming population out there. It's not as crazy hardcore as everyone makes it out to be... unless you want it to be, and then they're underselling the crazy. That said, I really think most people on the Giant Bomb forums should at least try ZHP, which was a generally accessible game and a lot of fun. Again, nuttier than a Snickers, but it worked in that game's favor.

Also, really? Never a Worms game? You only really need to play one (all of them are basic reiterations rather than full-blown sequels), but theyre a lot of fun. Fantastic online community for 'em, too - well, at least when the community is generally active around its release.

I am quite shocked at some of the items on this list. For Blizzard games you never even played Rock N Roll Racing or Lost Vikings? Those games are so great.

Please play Chrono Trigger. It is the best video game ever made. And to anyone who disagrees with that statement: do not let me find out where you live, because I will take a shit on your front porch in the middle of the night.

EDIT: I'm kidding of course, but seriously, I see from your list that you don't really prefer the "Japanese" style role-playing game, or RPGs in general for that matter, which is perfectly fine. To each their own. But IMO Chrono Trigger is a story told in game format that should not be missed. There are no random encounters, if those are a turn-off for you. The amount of content they were able to put on a SNES cart is baffling. The music is almost universally heralded as some of the best ever, and the characters you meet within the story you actually care about. This is a rare gem from back when video games were video games. If it ever comes to Steam and you promise to give a whole-hearted effort to play through it, I will buy it and gift it to you.

For greater shame. Again.

I find it equally horrifying when I hear of users that have never played a game within the SimCity, Age of Empire, or Microsoft Flight Simulator franchises.

Uh, that's me, but mainly because I've been playing far more obscure shit. Regardless, I'll still scold you for not playing at least something on this list.

Good job! Don't give into peer pressure.

..I want to recommend this, but I don't really what I'm recommending under the circumstances... If anything am I not mildly promoting the idea for people to skip past so many prestigious and historic games?? Whatever, I won't give it much thought. But still, the fact that you've got entire companies on this list to better emphasise how many classics you've missed through the years is unreal! The irony that you're a moderator for a video games forum is well earned.

I find it equally horrifying when I hear of users that have never played a game within the SimCity, Age of Empire, or Microsoft Flight Simulator franchises. I don't think there is such a thing as a "Game Everyone Needs to Play." You know what you like at a young age and stick to that for the most part and that doesn't make you any less of a hobbyist than the guy who buys a little bit of everything.

Also I have never owned a Playstation console personally. Instead I have relied on friends and roommates to play games for the consoles that Sony manufactures. So is the way when you can only feasibly afford one or two game platforms.

I'm not measuring you as a gamer by how many games you've played, if that's what you're thinking. I'm just saying how with you being a video games forum moderator--and for a rather populous forum at that--it should be easy to understand why someone would be shocked to find there's so many huge, iconic video games that you haven't played.

With the amount of stuff on this list, I have to ask. Do you even play games?
