@redgamer4: If you drop the beat, they will come
It's not picking up my 360 controller. Can't configure it, what's the deal?
anybody else have the same problem?
Trackmania, never change!
I love these games! I hope this takes off like the free version did. They really need to do something to rev up the user base though.
Hmm, can you still play Nations for free?
Does anyone know if the original Trackmania is still going?
Guess it goes to show that not everything that is popular can be profited from. It is too bad that they messed up TM2 with all this front-end software that doesn't work and wasted time focusing on Shootmania when they didn't really know what the community demand/response would be. Especially, since there are so many shooters out there, and plus a few good F2P shooters to boot.
@phantomgardener: It's on a new engine and paying ten dollars to support a game they gave out for free isn't really a bad deal? I know you can get it for free but maybe support the game if you played a lot of the first.
Also new blocks for tracks and the ability to import 3d models for use in tracks.
Notice how Jeff didn't select world when viewing the Canyon Server Browser... another reason why ManiaPlanet sucks, I bet most people don't do that and think the game is dead.
Well, to be fair, people on the west coast of the US aren't going to have great ping on a European server.
Is ping all that relevant in Trackmania? I thought it pretty much only used the connection to display the ghosts of other players, download tracks and music and post your times, but that you actually played locally.
vinny's air horn noise made me feel like i was listening to a world premier of a hip hop song
I've only just started watching this video, but poonwrangler69 already makes it worth it.
So... This is Trackmania Nations, only this one costs money? Cause, honestly, I can't see the difference between the two.
Looks fun, but too much effort for my taste.
I think we're just about due for another TrackMania TNT...
At least have Jeff playing in the background or something. TNT needs more dubstep Cher tracks.
Good to hear that TrackMania 2 is now on Steam. I might now buy it.
Jeff and Vinny need to get footlong hot dogs. That way, you don't need to buy two and/or a hamburger as well.
Best name I've seen in years: poonWrangler69
I am down with poonwrangler69.
This model makes no sense. It seems like Trackmania's user base is already hanging by a thread, and they keep releasing different games to further splinter the user base? Why?
You took the words right out of my mouth. It seems like no one at Nadeo has taken the time to evaluate new ideas before they're shoved out the door. Not the front-end interface, not the ties to Shootmania, and certainly not the total separation of what are essentially different pieces of the same game. Off-kilter charm is not a substitute for polish and careful implementation.
As it is, I don't imagine I'll be buying into Trackmania 2.
Huh, I was really digging the first track for some reason.
First person to make a Wario Stadium track wins.
Trackmania 2 is depressing, no one really plays anymore and the servers they do have only got some 15-30 second tracks with little variety. Man...what coulda been.
WHOOOOOOOOOOO is better than CANNNNNNYOOOOOOOOOOOOON?!?!?!?!?!
Stadium is who.
And finally someone uses good music on their server. <3 Lil Ol' Band Outta Texas
Some dope Lindsey Sterling tracks up in here.
Patrick retweeting Cher's dumbass tweets makes this open beta so timely.
You guys are listening to Lindsey Stirling! Good choice.
This sucks. :(
Can i have a hamburger where the buns have bun shaped hot dogs in them?
damn. does anyone know where to find a audio clip of the trackmania car horn?
Anyone able to tell me the name of the song at the beginning of the QL?"
Kinda weird watching this without horrific dubstep in the background.
This looks exactly like the first Trackmania. What's different?
Now THIS is the Trackmania that I recognizse. Happy to see that Jeff is keeping up Giant Bomb's first class Trackmania 2 coverage.
Do you believe in life after love?
They keep handling this game as poorly as anyone could.
It comes to Steam a year after release, and at the same time they put out the new standalone expansion that costs half the price of the original and has a free beta for everyone to try. They have split their community forever, all the new people will get Stadium cause no one in their right mind will want to pay for two of them when one is plenty enough and much cheaper. The old players that don't feel like purchasing more will be left in Canyon while all the new players will be playing Stadium.
Ya it has me worried I don't know if I want to put down another 10$ Canyon is already not the place to be anymore. I'm just scared stadium will explode and Ill be left in the dust.
This looks exactly like the free Trackmania.
I was totally stoked to see this on Steam, will probably pick it up when I feel like I have the time.
I am manic for tracks
What was that first violin song? I know it was Lindsey Stirling, but which track was it?
I was just sitting down to eat some dinner and watch this Quick Look when I noticed the driver handle "poonwrangler69." I almost choked on my meticulously crafted, homemade taco I was laughing so hard.
Oh internet, how apathetic are thee.
