Little girls of the death arcana with purple glowing names scare the crap out of me.  Alice reminds me of those creepy twins from the Shining.

This boss killed me the first time.  Good job, guys.

It's because we've lost the 500 "OMFG WTF VINNY AND JEFF ARE IDIOTS. Why did you fuse that?! wtf are you dense?!/!1"

Which is actually nice.

Heh, annoying summoning bosses suck. It reminds me of Dragon Quest whenever enemies call in re-inforcements. I think Earthbound had lame enemies that did nothing but summon other guys too.

question. has there ever been an enemy with a weakness just to physical?

Posted by InfiniteGeass

It's too bad they probably won't get the best ending, but it has been fun. I was really hoping they would fight a shadow on that one floor.

Sorry to break this to you mate, but those enemies they fought with trumpeter weren't strong against Almighty. Megidolaon just sucks, like I was saying yesterday.   I went and tested it just now on those same enemies if you don't believe me, Megidolaon does like 120dmg, Morning Star did about 190. All-out Attack did 1200. Sorry to burst your Trumpeter bubble.  Oh, you also said yesterday Mind Charge + Megidolaon on Alice was great for clearing normal shadows. I hope you're trying to make me laugh. Why would you waste 2 turns casting that drivel when you could just use Die For Me!? If they're null dark or w/e, just change persona, it's pointless wasting 2 turns Mind Charging Megidolaon for normal shadows.. "
You still waste 2 or 3 turns if Die For Me fail to clear the enemies which are normal to dark.Sometimes it takes even 4 turns to cast Die For me! to win.I dont think I waste my time for two turns because  it takes only 10-15 seconds to finish the battle.

Helel Morning Star is good, but its damage give less damage than Alice Megidolaon because of her high magic stats.Even Trumpeter Megidolaon can match Helel Morning Star when both of their level are 99.
And believe me,Alice Megidolaon gives better damage than Helel Morning Star.
I casted Alice Megidolaon on Glorious Hand and it gives 300 damage
And then I casted Helel Morning Star on the same enemy and it gives 270 damage only.
And both Helel and Alice are Lvl 99.But Alice magic is 81 and Helel is 66.The difference between two magic stats is only 15 and it is enough to make Megidolaon overtake Morning Star.

There's one enemy in the entire game that's weak to physical, but I can't remember off the top of my head if it's in this dungeon or the Actual Final Dungeon. Needless to say, it's easy as hell to beat that enemy.

On a completely unrelated note, I keep expecting the guys to replace the Break skills(since they've used them about twice in the entire game) when the party members get new skills, but it never happens. It's like it doesn't even occur to them that they can(and probably should) replace the break skills, since they never talk about it when skill replacement time happens. Oh well, at this point the guys can steamroll over pretty much any enemy in the game as long as they keep leveling up appropriately, so them keeping the useless Break skills is hardly the end of the world.

I don't mean to spoil another game, but I think that explain-the-situation stuff with Teddie is supposed to contain a sly reference to Persona 3.

Yes.  Example: in one of the most recent episodes (within 138-142) they fought one with that weakness.

I really hope they have multiple coppies of their save, because I was playing it on my PS3 and was around the same area that they are, and my save data got corrupted and I had to restart the game cause I didnt have multiple saves. Now I know.

That is a common problem when using the Playstation 3 to play Playstation 2 games.  Fortunately, the boys are using a Playstation 2 to play this and are less likely to get a corrupted save.  Unfortunately, I use a Playstation 3 as well to play the game.  I've created two memory cards on the system just in case something like that does happen.

Oh come on, Vinny, how could you not know "Don't think; feel"?!  It's a famous Bruce Lee quote, for God's sake!  And who is Chie based on again? >:|

i hope so, because I know when I saw that "Save game failed to load" message, there were lots of yelling and profanity, then followed by sadness.

Wow 300 damage, that's umm.. impressive.

To be honest with you if I leveled a persona with Megidolaon to level 99 and then went and cast it on an enemy and got 300 damage I'd be pretty fucking unimpressed. Seriously though, what ever floats your boat, if you love going through dungeons spamming Almighty spells then go for it, I'm not going to try and stop you. Regardless, you're still wrong about those enemies being strong to Almighty, and judging by how often you use it I think it's safe to say you knew that was the case. So, essentially you lied to defend your bemusing obsession with what's probably the weakest set of spells in the game.

Yoshitsune and a backup 4-element persona for physical immune enemies are all you need to clear normal shadows in this game. Going to the lengths you've gone is just pointless. Almighty spells in this game are severely underwhelming and I think it's safe to say 95% of the people out there would agree with me. Jeff and Vinny's reaction says it all really.

It's always kind of irked me everytime they never got that either. It's hard to imagine neither Jeff nor Vinny have seen Enter the Dragon.

I wonder if they actually are going for the True Ending, but if they don't; that's fine.

I was rather underwhelmed by Trumpeter. After all the build up, all the work to get, a 30 SP spell (with a halve SP ring) and he did ~90 dmg.

Trumpeter's strength is put on full display in boss battles, since he can cast Debilitate (which will lower the bosses' attack, hit/evasion, and defense in one go). The first time through I didn't fuse him, but on my second playthrough I did and having him in the last bosses made a world of difference.

You know, for years I assumed this Alice was the Lewis Carroll character.  I never got why she was of the Death Arcana.

Knew people in high school who were part of some national air hockey league & brought not only thier own paddles but they also had a paddle where the center knobby thing was cut down to be level with the rest of the paddle (they would hold it using 3-4 fingers near the edge instead of on top). Miss that arcade though as it had a lot of great pinball games & other fun games while reminding myself all the time that those friends of mine that big into air hockey had too much free time on their hands.

Debilitate is a spell only learned by 3 Personas: Trumpeter and Norn through normal means, and Yoshitsune through the December 23rd Fusion Forecast, which results in losing out on the Christmas cut scene.  It cannot be passed on to anyone via fusing.  While rarity is not always a marker for incredibly good skills, in this case, it definitely is.

You should start using Chie's ice spells again.  Sure they're lower level spells, but you've got that 40% ICE boost item.  That will greatly help.

I played through on PS3 and there were a few times (about 3 or 4) when I got the data corrupted message, but all I had to do was try to load the file again and it would always work. The data was never actually corrupted.

@Turambar: actually for yoshitsune the fusion date is 19 and 22 of dec. If you fuse on the 19 you getr debilitate and if you fuse on the 22 you'll get heat riser

Huh?A little bit correction:
12/19:Arms Master added
12/24:Debilitate added
Yoshitsune learns Heat Riser naturally. And I am a fan of Hassou Tobi :P

I think they're going to make the mistake of beating the dungeon before attempting to do Social Links.

@fynne: They have no excuse to even still have those spells on her. They're useless by Secret Laboratory.

Wait, that stuff isn't random? Bummer. No wonder there are so many FAQ players then, this game seems incredibly FAQ friendly. Apparently one can pre-plan every minute detail.

Dudes, a movie about air hockey could be great. Not like Balls of Fury (terrible), but like the good ping pong movie that came out this decade:

Yeah that happens to me somthimes too, but better safe than sorry through. They're 90 hours in. It would suck if it gets corrupted.

Maybe it's just me but I got the corrupted Data on my PS2 loads of times from just using memory cards.
I have multiple saves on P3 and I will be doing the same for P4 cause my Ps2 is temperamental like that and I'd die if I got corrupted data on either. XD

World 3 could potentially get really annoying if you're a completionist.
I, for one, always HAVE to reveal the entire map before I can move on to the next area. And so I got kicked out a couple of times.
... But to be fair I guess I can't really blame the dungeon for my lack of skill  :>

I want Chie's voice actress to make an "Aha! Is this your text?" sound NOW.

Posted by RandomInternetUser

God, the way Vinny said "You're not gonna die or something are you?" made me burst out laughing.  The tone sounded like "You're not gonna die or something are you?  If so, could you go outside so I don't have to clean that up?"

Posted by warfather

how about that trumpeter huh?

Posted by Talon64

Trumpeter was one of my go-to-guys all the way to the end of the game thanks to debilitate for bosses,  ziodyne/elec amp and mind charge (for the sake of Margaret's S Link) for good damage, and cool breeze for saving money.

Although heat riser isn't as useful as it sounds, if you want to buff your entire party you can waste less turns using masuka, maraku and mataku instead.
