I love this game having never actually played it but the "true" ending is sort of terrible.

Fire/Wind Break. Did it once on a robot, completely forgot about it. Who else yells at their screen telling them to use the Breaks. :\

Indeed. When I was having to deal with these kind of enemies I immediately applied wind break then went to down.

I love the music in the final boss battle.

After all these years, is there anything more exciting, funny, and addicting than the Persona 4 Endurance Run? It did so many things for me. I was lonely and away from home for the first time, and the Endurance Run made things easier for that first month. It got me into the Persona series and made me interested in some other JRPGs too. And lastly, it got me into Giant Bomb. I got hooked and I never looked back.

Rewatching. Started about a month ago or so. Fucking great run, guys. Shit never gets old.

The endurance run is truly a timeless experience. I've watched it 3 times now and will again in the future, and it's still great.

"Fog" is the best music in this game.

it was funny when Vinny rushed...  this ER has definately been a blast

Posted by InfiniteGeass

Lol at rushing the final boss.

I love jrpgs but I've always had a problem with the way they get all pretentious towards the end, its always about saving the world.

Edited by PerfidiousSinn

I headbanged through the entire final battle.

EDIT: It's funny how Vinny says "Nanako!" at 54:00-ish. Izanami and Nanako = same voice actress.

The final boss music is awesome, I can't believe anyone disliked it.

God it drives me nuts how Naoto just recaps EVERYthing after she joins the party. It's so unnecessary.
Still! I love me some P4 and I looooove me some Endurance Run.

Edited by Talon64

I love all the boss battle tunes in this game: the general one, Namatame and Adachi's, Ameno-Sagiri's, and the two here. As you go through the game it keeps getting more and more epic, although I agree with the complaints about the final boss music.

But my PS2 is so old and busted that the music cuts out every now and then, and it really sucks when it does it for the final boss. It also makes it a bitch for anything to load in P3.

EDIT: nooooooooo, cliffhanger!

"Don't hit triangle" lol

Crazy ass epic music.

The end of this game is near.

"Yea, No. Shit"

Love Vinny.

I was watching this while eating dinner, and when Vinny accidentally rushed, I threw my knife across the room. Woops! :/

This is my second time around. Still as good as the first time.

Good video!

It's nice to rewatch their final fight from time to time, they really did learn a lot in all those months they spent playing the game.

Agggrhh, went from not buffing enough to buffing too much.

I agree with you. That secret boss battle is harder compare to Izanami.I have already beaten her countless time. Now,I can defeat her under 40 turns for solo and 6 turns with Chie/Yosuke/Kanji.Practice makes perfect.I am holding the world record of defeating Margaret in fewest turns now.Nobody breaks my record yet.Hahaha...

That...that was so goddamn intense at the end.

Triangle is the key.

I can't believe it's come so far. This is great.

I think the plot in Persona 4 got way more convoluted in the end compared to Persona 3.

" @EmperorSeth:   The problem with the final boss music is that the build up is about 5 minutes long, with the fanfare remix only being about 1. That makes for a pretty quiet fight... "
My problem is not that it's "quiet" for so long.  It's that it basically builds up to the awesome remix of Reach Out To The Truth for no reason.  What I mean is that the music is threatening and grand for a long while, fitting the enemy you're up against very nicely.  But then it can lead up to that remix, that is basically filled with hope and makes one feel that victory's right around the corner, even if you're badly losing!  The developers should have made it in a way that the remix only kicks in when you are actually about to win and not be heard right in the beginning of the fight. "
That would be a pain in the neck to code/program, a huge pain.. but I can't help but agree with you 100%. This is just an assumption, but I feel that they probably would have loved to do that, but were approaching this game the "japanimation" way -- that is, saving money and time wherever possible, because the biggest portion of the developers' budget goes to the voice cast. You've already probably thought of this, but a great solution would have been to have two music tracks -- load and buffer both at the beginning of the fight, and play the first until Izanami's at 1/3 health, then crossfade into the second. "
I don't know much of anything about coding, but that's exactly how I think they should have implemented it.  Maybe even have the tune come in a little later than at Izanami's 1/3 health point.

Rushing Izanami. Truly the best battle in the entirety of the Endurance Run.

Runner up for this ep:Forgetting the set damage items when they were up against the 100HP robot(thus making the battle take several turns instead of one). I know you never use them, but surely you remember they exist, right? I mean, you keep picking them up!

"
I accidentally rushed the end  boss of Persona 3. The boss was reflecting physical at the time and I died in one hit.

And we all wished to be more.

The remix was really cool, and damn a cliff hanger and a half can't wait.

Posted by Kowbrainz

Oh jeez, loved this episode, can't wait for the conclusion. Feel most of what I could say has already been said enough times, although hitting triangle was too good; typical of this run.

I support a P3 Endurance Run wholeheartedly, even if it takes you longer than this one. There may be a lot of people against the idea, and the plot of this game, I admit, may have gotten a little convoluted towards the end, but there really isn't any other game I could see working this well as an 'Endurance Run'. You could play through other games, but unless it was an RPG it would lose the endurance feeling, and unless it was a Persona game I doubt the script would keep people all that entertained.

In either case, whatever happens, thanks for everything. Should really save this for tonights episode, but it's been a great year all the same and words couldn't describe just how great it's felt following along. Cheers. :)

I've been listening to this fucking theme for a few hours now. It's hard to believe that the Endurance Run is almost over, and it's hard to believe I actually have watched 154 episodes and over 98 hours of it. It's so well worth it though, and I'm actually pretty sad that Persona 4 is coming to an end.

Here's to the end of the Persona 4 Endurance Run and whatever will come next.

This really does feel like the end. :( I'm going to miss this. But I'm also really glad it's ending. It shows Vinny and Jeff have enough competence to complete what they set out to do (sort of). Ok they exceeded what they set out to do. Persona 4 was a perfect game for Endurance Run's debut (155 episodes!!!). Man good times. There were a lot of good memories and countless hilarious moments. It felt like I was right there with you guys.

I really liked the music playing during Izanami's first form. One of my favourites. :)

Man this really does feel like the end :( I'm going to miss this, but we had some great memories. I've kept up with every episode along the way. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Persona 4 was a perfect game for the Endurance Run's debut (155 episodes!!!). Man, good times.
