So far I've been very pleased with Icecrown Citadel, they have done a good job of making progressing through the dungeon feel more like an actual assault with a lot of cinematic moments and encounters. "

I see a lot of haters here, frankly unjustified.
1. There have been trailers for wow patches for like 5 years now, this is not new. Welcome to the internet.
2. I can pretty much guarrantee that if you took Warcraft 3 Arthas at max level (with Frostmourne and all) and put him up against 25 non-hero knights, he would lose.
3. 12 million people playing this game doesn't say anything about whether this game is good or bad. It only proves this game is popular. Any of your comments about the player quantity, however, also do not prove if the game is good or bad. For that, you need to log in, play the game (preferably more than just run around naked), and then come here and write in your completely subjective terms what you liked or didn't like about the game. Until then, your argument is zero.
4. In my completely subjective opinion, the trailer is mediocre. They could have done a lot better than your standard "prepare to fight boss - fight boss - kill boss - rejoice" plotline, and they could have done a lot better than "hey look it's a massive army at my gates, all my teritory in Northrend has been lost, my castle is under attack, the spirits in my blade are likely going to wake up and backstab me, 90% of my undead army is now no longer undead, my allies have been thoroughly defeated and humiliated every day, my enemies have been organizing championships of who gets to kill me which i thoroughly failed to stop, BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THE DETAILS I CAN STILL KILL THEM. DURR.". You have to wonder if reducing Arthas to stardard-game-villain#54536 dumbs down the plot's credibility and complexity a bit.
 
And in my opinion based on 3 years of experience, WoW is a lot better MMO than any other out there. It's still an MMO though.

I have never played WoW, so it's very hard for me to imagine why anyone would get excited for something that looks this bad. But i guess that's MMO addiction for ya.

I think it looked pretty good for a patch trailer (they did one for the Sun Isle, too), but having seen it now, I know in reality what it really means to be a grunt among that setting.  For me it involved running from one area to another and then back again while spamming heals on the tank and trying to maintain my mana regeneration...which I read is harder again with the pally nerfs.  Ugh, just when I get a very slight inkling of going back someday, Blizzard kills it off again.

I really enjoy the fiction of Warcraft, its definitely found a nice little place in my heart. WoW was something I put huge chunks of time in like millions of other people, but like what has been mentioned, the player base really detracts me from continuing to play it. I would love to play with people that appreciate the game as I do, but the MMO crowd kinda scares me sometimes. Now its just single player games for me. Cool trailer though, almost makes me want to go back... almost.

@SuperSecretAgenda:  As I said before, Arthas is dead already. Players in WoW "stabbed" his heart in a special and somewhat epic questline. It is only The Lich King that inhabits the body of Arthas, and there will always be a Lich King, so he might return again. And yes, he might be easy to kill on normal-mode but now that they invented the hard-mode system I doubt that many are gonna kill him the first 2-3 weeks, since its hard, really hard.
He is considered weakened in WC3:TFT because Illidan was trying to destroy The Frozen Throne. When Arthas stopped Illidan in doing that and became The Lich King he reclaimed his power.

@jakob187: It was probably easy because it was normal mode. They made normal mode so everyone could see and experience the instance. You can go hard-mode if you want a challenge. And, you can't get Frostmourne, but something similair: Shadowmourne.

The haters are out in force, I see.  Myself, i'm a firm believer that if a game entertains a bunch of people then good for those people and good for the developers responsible. 
 
That's also one hell of a trailer.  I expect a lot of companies wish they had some of that editing talent on hand when it came time to make their own game's trailer.

Warcraft has an epic storyline. You could easily make a trilogy of films about it.

Blizzard has never ruined Warcraft Lore.  It's their own universe (although copied in most aspects.. heh) and they can do what they want with it.

I'm more excited for The Old Republic... WOW is old news.

You know, its funny how many people hate WoW here in Giantbomb yet its the second most played game, but yeah its gonna be awesome too bad we got to wait like 3 months to fight Arthas lol

Guess I'll have to watch the Arthas fight on youtube since I don't have a subscription anymore. Even I did, well.... I wouldn't get back into raiding.

Saw my buddies raiding IC last night.  Looks alright, but they downed three bosses in less than two hours.  Kind of a joke.  Waiting to see the Arthas fight.  Personally, I think it's bullshit that you can attain Frostmourne and not have any negative repercussions for doing so.
