Also, about the exploit/expose thing. If you expose and enemy, it will have that weird targetting thing on it, use an exploit attack on one of these enemies and it'll do a lot of damage, usually instant killing them, and it'll do the disintegrating animation.
@dagas: DS9 was boring and kinda dumb. Nothing really ever happened and I find it hard to believe that an advanced race would be gullible enough to believe that the shapeshifters were their gods.
I mean they got to where they were technologically through science and yet a shapeshifter shows up claiming she's their god and they don't ask for any evidence to back it up. Just seems really stupid to me. Apart from this, it took ages for anything to happen in that series.

I don't know if you saw, but Ryan was no maestro at the helm either. Not that any of them really need to be; Brad's deaths in particular are legendary. :P
Someone at GiantBomb needs to get to Lt. Cmdr. as it doesn't look like the crew of the Duder will get there before the beta ends. I do like in the beta the new look to a lot of the UI & all about the delta section that's in this QL as it's totally random on what happens which is nice. Found out that too if there's one ship best thing is to just dent it a lot with attack mode, that and whatever power your tactical ppl have in the ship, use it all the time.
BTW you definitely need to save the Kahn beta message at the first for any other mmo betas that get the quick look treatment.
Also for anyone at GiantBomb piloting the USS Duder or another ship, I noticed that there was a 3rd character space open & went to make someone while the other person kept crashing on that server, so they've filled in the intro of the Federation side with plenty of getting Nimoyed in a good way.
Late edit--Okay just paid for the 4th ship (all tier1 & 2) to try out & just tore through the nausacan fleets with the latest (USS Dagon & a science ship too), also the reverse tractor beam is so freaking nice when you have to push ships out of the way instead of having them explode on top of you. Also hell of fun when you're fighting a bunch of people as you push the near exploding ship into a bunch of other enemy ships. As for how the science ship rocks, you can target things like shields or weapons to really cripple the hell out of their ship & if you have 2 science officers with the tachyon beam you will be just chewing through ships like they're made of paper. Now I know when I get the Star Trek MMO after dealing with the hectic class I'm in it will be a definitely tough choice on which ship to go with as they are all pretty good though liking the extra room you get with the cruisers. Probably won't get to the beta again before it closes out but will put up a few more screenshots & just sad that all the crazy holodeck stuff I read about being in the STO mmo, was either not there or not found but I'm glad that there's less space cop missions now (either just after hitting lt. cmdr in beta or them just expanding on it).

I was kind of thinking that. As much as I like Brad... eh...
Also: Brad was like, "We've cracked the code of Ster Trek Online space combat!". Hey, and guess what it was? EXACTLY what basically every single person has been saying in all caps on every video. Slow down, go attack, fire lasers and stuff till the shield is gone then fire torpedos, done, move on.
Question: why does anyone care if Brad doesn't seem to learn from his so-called mistakes? It's a new game, he hasn't been at it long and its not the most simple interface to keep track of, so let us cut the guy some slack.
Anyway, haven't Quick Looks and the like always been about watching Brad fail his way through stuff? Personally, I think I learn alot more this way than if I was watching some dude from Cryptic play it.

Not getting something like the crafting system is one thing. The basic movement functions are another. This is like going through the first world of NSMBW not knowing there's a run button.
Please stop with the pathetic, whining community bitching. It's fun watching them banter and find their way through the game, can't people just shut the fuck up.
