I like the concept of "ask me anything". Just saying.
Hmm... Not really liking what I'm seeing. Graphically, the characters and animations are nice, but the U.I. and 3D environments are disappointingly bland. Plus, I've never been a fan of the mad Japanese over-the-top high drama stories that are always present in Final Fantasy games.
On the other hand, the music is awesome, and the combat looks rather intriguing.
On a separate note, this "Ask Me Anything" preview-esque feature seems excellent.
That Hope dude looks like this annoying ass chick named Hope I used to know, except she had greasy black hair.
I'm sorry, a 3-D sphere grid?, as if the original wasn't hard enough, I want the basic FF9 system back, that WORKED :(
" Wow that game looks bad. Combine the repetitive looking combat with the unnecessarily complex level up system, the horrible character designs and a story that, from what has been shown so far, looks as bland and cliche as ever i understand now why the game flopped in japan. "What the hell are you talking about. Not only do I disagree with everything you say, but the underlined statement from you is so far from reality it's not even funny.
Good concept this "Ask Me Anything". Piqued my interest in FF13 now because of this.
This looks really good, but it just doesn't look like Final Fantasy to me. I'll still play it, but it doesn't have the same hook to it.
Yes. Every single main Final Fantasy game has had its own, singular story. The only sequel in the main games has been FFX to FFX-2." @Lind_L_Taylor: But isn't it like its own thing? Sure it takes place in FF universe, but the story is totally on its own. "
Great, the sphere grid level up system is back............ That's the one thing I hated about FF10 and why I didn't get very far. I miss the good old days when you level up, your stats would go up and you didn't have to mess around with skill points and all that jazz. I does look a little more stream lined so I guess that's good. Either way I will probably end up getting this game.

"yeah, 1.5 million sold in one country is a huge flop
Is it me or do those battles look like they're taking way too long, even the ones with smaller monsters? At least there aren't random encounters (right?).
Liking this segment. Love the quick looks. Adore the podcast. Keep up the good work ladies.
Node based skill tree in 3d space doesn't make much sense, why hasn't Square heard of a pull down menu enough to want to use it (or at least a 2d node based skill tree). Game, like the previous in the series, still seems overly cluttered with menus & UI stuff compared to the RPGs from Lionhead which lets you have enough screen to admire the art.
" Who is that funky fro-man? I love him. All of these effeminate boy/girls and then BAM. FUNKY SOUL BROTHA. "I agree. I'm getting pretty sick of the girly, swoopy-haired emo boys in these games. It's just getting ridiculous.
Really enjoyed this video. I'll probably watch it again because the video quality of the Giant Bomb iPhone App is poor
After watching this. Totally want to get this when it comes out but... still not finished Dragon Age and yet to start Mass Effect 2.
Does anyone know, in FFxii do all the characters get exp or just the ones that are fighting?
I don't know if this makes me a bad person though certainly not a huge rpg fan but I've almost always regarded combat in rpgs, especially in jrpgs and turn-based rpgs a chore, keeping me from the story and other elements of the game. Not that I'm even a fan of those stories but I guess even I need my fill of anime-esque, corny from country boy to savior of the world fantasies, and those pretty unique to japanese character/art designs. SO anyways nice vid Brad n Vinny but nothing to get me excited...
Yay! A video with Brad in it! Gotta represent NC!
Final Fantasy XIII wasn't a big deal in Japan, at least not in my area or among my friends even.
First video of FFXIII I haven't found funny for the wrong reasons.
The observant observer may also notice that the video had no story parts in it.
...
There's your problem
Not getting this game.
Snow, Fang and Vanille are totally going to be my party whenever possible. Also March 10th is more like 3.5 weeks. Great video by the way.

Looks fine to me. The battles looks fast, intense, and entertaining. I don't understand why nowadays instantly makes the assumption that linearity = bad.
good: expedited battle system where actions go down all at once ala grandia
bad: lame character designs
good: the game world looks great, not just technically but stylistically(style > polygon count always, imo)
bad: sphere grid BARF
uneasy about: ai controlled party members
i would really like to play this, i don't have a ps3 and probably won't for a long ass time, but I'm definitely interested. I've heard a lot of good things about the battle system and bosses and the endgame and all that, but the story is going to be the make or break deal for me.
wow, my interest in this just peaked. i generally hate rpgs, except pokemon and chronotrigger. I can see game play is very similar to that of chronotriggers timer count thing and that automatically makes me happy. Turn based is my enemy, i always was pissed off i couldnt get pikachu to jump to the side to avoid an attack like in the show.
Looks like most are buying this for the nostalgia/brand name. This game will most likely be mediocre at best, and after playing a ton of WRPGs, I can say this game looks like an old game covered up in a shiny coat of paint.
I've grown up from JRPGs. It was cool to be an otaku when you were 12, but now, most of us have responsibilities, and don't have time for 30 hours of grinding. Seems like most of the Game Industry covers these repetitive, and generally mediocre games so they don't piss off all the otakus.
It looks good, but I've never played a real turn based game like FF, and I don't think I'd like it.
So there are no random battles... God be praised!!!! I might actually be able to play a final fantasy past the first few hours - no random battles to make you want to throw your controller out the window!
" Vinny seems like SUCH a nice guy. "I want to touch his face. Not that that's weird or anything, right?
I really like this feature and I hope we see some more it but I don't know how many opportunities would actually present itself where this feature would make sense.
As for Final Fantasy XIII, all I can ever think of when I see footage of this game is just how GODDAMN gorgeous it is. I'm not even a big Final Fantasy guy but shit, does this game look visually amazing.
That looks pretty crazy, maybe this will be the Final Fantasy game I buy and actually play... we'll see.
More videos like this please, very cool.
Good stuff. This is the first time I've watched a video of any Final Fantasy game more than 10 seconds.
