This is exactly what I wanted. Now I want to know why exactly they haven't put FF1&2 up on PSN for PSP or the PSX classic renditions.

I seriously considered purchasing the PSP version of FF1, and after arguing with myself, I decided that since I argued too much, i mustn't have needed a purchase. The game holds such a strong meaning for me that the Virtual Console version also held great interest.
...and now the Ipod Touch gets its own available copy. I feel like Tommy Lee Jones from Men in Black when he comments, "Now I'll have to buy the Beatles White Album again..."
" @Computerplayer1 said:Ah yes, that makes much more sense. Internet beats me again at deciphering sentences." @CL60 said:You misunderstand me. My point was questioning why one of the things that would make you want an iPhone is, of all things, another port of Final fucking Fantasy, which not only isn't that great, but you can play it on five million other systems that you probably own. "" @Computerplayer1 said:....Also $200 lol. I have far better uses for $200. Like sit on it. "" @iAmJohn said:Get an Ipod Touch then? "" @Computerplayer1 said:Could I afford it? Yes. My concept of affording something lies more in whether or not it is a good use for that money. Where I could spend $200 for a phone and another $100 a month to get all the use out of it is irrelevant. I can't afford an iPhone if I'm only going to use it for talk and text -- which is all I want out of a phone currently. "" Now if I could just afford a damn iPhone... "I really hope you're not being serious. "
" So how many of you folks going "ONSCREEN CONTROLS DONT WORK" have actually played a good game with onscreen controls? "Why would they be saying that onscreen controls don't work if they've played a good game with onscreen controls?

"Hey lets release those two games we have released on everything else again on iPhone, good thing we waited till the App Store buzz died down. People love to buy those games again, especially the second one, the broken one. We can't really be bothered coming up with a new 2D Final Fantasy for this device. Lets badly composite our stock B-Roll footage onto a terrible image of the iPhone and be done with it."
I can't really blame them since this has worked so many times in the past, I'm just amazed when it is I & II again. I mean if a year goes by when they don't re-release those two specific games again they might go under.
" i have to say this is the first time i see a "real" game ported to the iphone/pod that looks like it might work. curious to see more about this. only downside is these aren't exactly games you just play in quick 15-20min sessions which is what the iphone is best suited for "Then you haven't really looked. The iPhone has had plenty of "real" games on it for quite awhile now.

" @mythrol: If they use onscreen "buttons", then it's just a shit game. "I wasn't aware that a "real" game had to be played with tactile buttons. . .
Well, I'm guessing these are about the same remake that went to the PSP a couple years back so; just another hand-held to Iphone port, nothing to see here folks, move along
Hmmm...FF on the iPhone, huh? I'm personally not a fan of gaming on my phone for obvious reasons that there are other greater ways to game, but hell, I would definitely love a GOOD RPG on the go...especially in class lol...best part of having an iPhone, heh. :P
And then the next platform the original Final Fantasy will be released on are myToes, because, hell, why not at this point?
Great, now I can re-experience the classic RPG in a whole new wfgdfgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg--
woah! sorry, fell asleep on my keyboard for a second!
" @Jayross said:MEH" Can I get a collective MEH? mehh.. "Meeeehhhhhh "
stupid IMO. who the hell plays on there iPhone for 40+ hours. the genre's moved on too. that gameplay is slow and boring.
" @OllyOxenFree said:Meh? MEH!" @Jayross said:MEH "" Can I get a collective MEH? mehh.. "Meeeehhhhhh "
Meh, who the heck would bother to complete that long game on iPhone? Plus the controls won't be good without any buttons.
THeyll prly be around the pricepoint of other square games on the appstore, which is a shame
" Is it just me or did all they show was FF2 and none of FF1. "Showed FF1 a lot. Even the first game scene with Garland was from 1. It showed the scene in the dwarf cave with the TNT. It showed the crossing of the bridge which leads to the famous story scene with the FF epilogue/theme music (which is playing).

" @Nintendude said:Controls are a really big issue on the iphone, i got GTA: CTW and it just doesnt feel right. final fantasy is awesome, but they should stick with the main consoles..
"Meh, who the heck would bother to complete that long game on iPhone? Plus the controls won't be good without any buttons. "Unless you have virtual buttons on screen, and then it will be like any other game. And if you have an iPhone, getting the bus everyday maybe, you're saying you wouldn't play this game? (if we're saying that you are a person that likes Final Fantasy). "
if they are under 5 bucks i'll be willing to try FF 1 and 2 for the first time on my ipod :o
I don't see why the controls would be a problem it's Final Fantasy I & II not exactly the most complicated RPGs out there today. The virtual D-pad looks very big and shouldn't cause any movement issues, I believe everything else is handle via touching the screen though so the battles should control very similar to how they have in DS Final Fantasy remakes.
My only issue with this is, they shouldn't charge any more than $2.99 each and $4.99 if they end up putting them together. These two games have been ported to literally every handheld device with a screen from the GBA to the WonderSwan. That being said, with the iPhone being a device I have on me wherever I go. I am down to get these for the controls, I have the NES verisons of the games on my iPhone now, but they are not fun to play due to the awful emulator controls.
