Jeff, I love you man, but Michael Ironside is a badass. I wouldn't buy a Splinter Cell game if he wasn't voicing Sam Fisher.

Question: Is the music in this trailer from the same guy who does the theme song for "The Wire?"

Woops duh, of course it's Johnny Cash. I'm tired... :(

This would have been better if they used the Moby version.

World peace? What Jack Bauer lives for after more than 5 horrible days in his life? Seriously, I'm kinda afraid how they went all Kratos on Fisher's ass.

But the trailer is awesome. I just hope they didn't dumb down the gameplay too much and we have a GOTY pretender.

@torus:  His brother is a teacher at my old highschool. A real fucking hard-ass he is.

Also, this song is quite fitting. Must Download.

It's extremely weird hearing Sam Fisher's voice saying the title of the game. I don't believe I ever heard Michael Ironside say "Splinter Cell", at least not in the game or even in a trailer. The very first Splinter Cell trailer though (for the very first game) used the main operative's voice (which, at that time, was not voiced by Michael Ironside), saying: "I'm Sam Fisher. I'm a Splinter Cell."

It just sounds kind of wrong, the narrator of the story, who is also the main character, saying the title of a production.

really good trailer, I am impressed.

So is this trailer saying that Sam Fisher is God?

Can't friggin wait for this game.

Badass: The Game strikes again. That trailer was maybe one of the most awesome trailers of this year so far imo.

Everybody has to copy MW2.  Why does every single Tom Clancy game suck so much?  Yet they keep on making them.  I have a theory that like madden games, the same type of nitwits buy and play Tom Clancy games.  I haven't seen a trailer that ugly in a few years.    But the song makes it cool right? Like Gear of War.  "
Yeah... no. While I like the MGS series better then Splinter Cell, the gameplay in SC has always been much better. The game looks really good, you probebly should turn up the quality in the video a bit and you'll notice it too.
Also, Conviction has been in development long before MW2 and I seriously doubt they added a white house level just because another game had it. And concidering that the whole premice of the game is built on goverment conspiricy and cover ups its a pretty logic place to have a level.
Theres no need to start bashing and lashing out at a game that for all we've seen of it looks to be really awesome.

You really should seperate your own personal preferences and the quality of a game. Just because you don't like a game or gameseries doesn't make them bad, they just aren't games for you.

It's night, and the goggles let him see.  QED: they're night vision goggles.  A bet is a bet.  Congrats Vinny!

PS:     They totaly have the night vision whine sound effect at the end with the date.
PPS:  Michael Ironside  is Splinter Cell.

So this trailer has Sam Fisher, Michael Ironside, and Johnny Cash.
Sam Fisher = Badass
Michael Ironside = Badass
Johnny Cash = Badass
Yup, this is indeed Badass: The Game.

That's not the white house it's the Pentagon.

And since you mention logic, it would actually be illogical for it to be the white house since the white house is simply a figure head type building and the Pentagon tends to be where all the main special forces/intelligence decision get made. So since the Third Echelon is a secret branch of the Pentagon in-game It makes even more sense for them to do it at the Pentagon.

Doing it at the white house is too obvious. This's Tom Clancy we're talking about, not Jerry Bruckheimer.

Technically speaking, Third Echelon a division of the NSA.

@crusnchill:

Er,  it is the White House.  They show an exterior / establishing shot of it (00:34) with a helocopter on the lawn and smoke coming from a window.

(I knew helocopters would eventually destroy society!)

I am super super bummed that this is exclusive to the XBox. Luckily my roommate has an XBox so provided he buys it... I'll be able to play it.

I've loved me some Splinter Cell for a long ass time and this looks awesome.

Awsome trailer!  Love how at 1:15 the shot of Sam Fisher "executing" the dude matches up with the beat of the music.

Alright.  I really want to play this game now.  This was badass to the highest degree.  I like they managed a badass one liner in a video game trailer without making it too cheesy.  This will be the first Splinter Cell game I've played since the very first one.
Posted by BenderUnit22

Weird, I had a better impression of the graphics from their E3 demo.

We shall see about the sonar goggles. In a recent showing on GameSpot, the dude said that Sam would get some of his old equipment back and he specifically mentioned the goggles. If the 3 dots are green and they tint the screen in a green tone, I don't care if they supposedly work sonar-based.

a seriously awesome trailer. i wasnt to hot on the demo but i bet the full game from start to finish will be insane! sam fisher is one bad ass dude
