I trust you've seen this one too:
a friend of mine has been bugging me to watch k-on recently, but i don't know if i'd like it really. the last anime i watched, and really enjoyed, was black lagoon
Wow, that video was great hahah. My anime-watching progression has been fairly limited, but in summary, I watch most programs made by KyoAni. I first watched Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, then Lucky Star, then SHnY S2 (which was crap because of one episode being rerun 8 times), then K-On! and K-On!! They're all enjoyable; SHnY has a much deeper and darker plot (hell, it's modeled after an entire book series), whereas K-On! and Lucky Star are far more comedic.
I wanted to see the hot tea action, and I was not disappointed. @ImmortalSaiyan: Well, they both are popular among otaku for reasons I can't understand (or are too creepy to contemplate), so in that sense yes. If you like shows where a bunch of animated little girls spend 24 minutes shooting the shit with each other then you will probably like K-On!
Dude i just like the show it gives me a glimpse of happiness which are world has none of. So i like the show cause it cheers me up and well i got nothing better to do at 1 am on Tuesdays. Plus i kinda like the music and yui has to learn how to play trapped under ice.
" It was the deep plot that lured me in. Would Yui join the band despite never playing guitar before? Could Azusa overcome her disappoint of how lazy the girls are? Compelling stuff. "

It's really weird, but when I think about it, I started watching K-On! because of Giant Bomb and it's Persona 4 Endurance Run. It all started when I started watching the Endurance Run and started liking Persona 4 enough to buy it and ended it playing through the game all the way to the true ending. I really liked Persona 4 and one day came across this video:
