This is a day-one purchase for me. I love Psychonauts, I love Brutal Legend, and after Brutal Legend I decided I would buy any Double Fine game day one blind.
 
As for the release date, I asked Tim Schafer about it on Twitter and he said the game would be out before Halloween.

I'm so excited for this.  It looks better than most full retail RPGs.   Very rarely does a DLC game scream Day One to me.

@maskedarcstrike: Not so much. I've played a lot of Earthbound/Mother and a lot of Psychonauts.  This looks like 'nauts crossed with Penny Arcade adventures. Which I'm fine with.
