This is excellent.

I can't wait to kill me some Koreans!

Why? its just fiction. Its an interesting premise  "

It would be more interesting if they made it the Ukraine or Africa, or some other country that we don't hear much of, and made you a homebred freedom fighter against the Korean forces in question.

I know it seems random but I haven't played these scenarios before without having my character have a British or American accent.

Another scenario that most medias never touch on is the idea of being a common civilian, let's say civilian farmer, forced to fight for evil forces with the threat of the death of all his family if he and his brothers do not join the army that his country's government has raise set upon the world.
Maybe this character has a great proficiency in warfare and gets promoted to a rank of considerable control of a regiment or two or even many more, and over the course of this war on the world that his country's government has created, and decides to use his and his silent allies' status as members of the evil side's army to set major events in motion that lead to the unremitted destruction of said evil leaders/dictators. Etc, etc...

I would love to play a game where I'm fighting to bring down my own side and if done right it could be a great premise for a video-game.

Have you ever seen a WWII movie...Look what France or Belgium, or Russia looked like.  This is Germany after the allies crossed into it...that's like a few months of destruction. This is all before predator drones, daisy cutter bombs, bunker busters, and massive C17 bombers.

"

Yeah, but I fought the idea was that the US was overrun because most of it's forces were abroad. Oh, and bunker busters wouldn't be affected against civilian areas (and the C-17 isn't a bomber).

Under the game scenario, North Korea apparently annexed South Korea, attacked Japan, then rest of South East Asia.

@IcySandman:  By $10 dollars cheaper I meant, than the console version which will be 60 bucks. I'm loving the deal.

@Tesla: The writer/director or Red Dawn is involved in this game somehow.

will there be an option to play as a korean?

Edited by maimran91

Even the White Castle in there?
Oh boy, this game's gonna rock my socks off!

Posted by frans130

I just think they are covering what seems to be a very generic FPS with a somewhat alternative story, that isn't really alternative at all. Also is it just me or is the voice-over in this trailer laughably half-assed? It seems like someone took their bad-shit insano-story just a tad to seriously :P

Edited by Tesla

Nothing gets my juices flowing quite like hearing an air raid siren.   And a classic communist invasion premise?  WOLVERINES!

I'll have to check this game out.

I could go for some White Castle now.

I think my thing is, there are totally horrible decimations of countries going on right now, and have been throughout time, and it seems to me like they just sat down and said "Right so. What do most people feel most attached to? Modern day America? Right so that's under threat. Don't ask how." They're taking the plot pretty seriously for such a non-sensical story.

yep EMP ownz all y'all

i like Red Dawn so that's why i'm looking forward to this game.

Good luck to them. The shooter genre is so cluttered right now, I hope they can carve an audience for themselves.

Yeah, I personally don't care what's happening if the game's fun.

The very fact North Korea won over South Korea makes this game incredibly offensive to my eyes.

Just about every sane people didn't like the plot of MW2....

Their logo (Kaos Studios) is something out of 3DO status lol  !! I get a very Delta Force feel from this game, which is to say that it makes good trailers, but plays horribly.

Posted by FourWude

So you play as an Insurgent Terrorist waging war against a peaceful freedom loving nation who wishes to spread their beautiful communisms.

DISGUSTING.

Posted by Mikemcn

We could wipe North Korea off the planet with conventional weapons, how the hell did they last long enough in a war to pull this off.

Posted by IcySandman
@Scodiac: What do you mean by 10 bucks cheaper?  Was the price 60$ originally?  Damn I'm liking the deal even if it isn't 10$ off.
Posted by briangodsoe

It's written by the guy who wrote Red Dawn. It's completely outlandish and a little stupid and that will probably be reasons to enjoy the story. It's going to be a dumb action movie you play.

At least it looks more coherent then MW2 was.

Posted by Example1013

This is definitely more unrealistic than a Russian land invasion (which, as I recall, didn't even really work that well in MW2 anyways). A lot more unrealistic. North Korea is basically just China's own little crazy pocket nation (kind of like Israel is for the US, sorta). And the Chinese still haven't really forgiven Japan for WWII. Which means China would probably be an ally in a fight like this, as it'd give them any excuse to destroy Japan.

Also, China is heavily invested both in the US government and economy. So yeah, they'd have our backs in this even if Europe wanted to sit around and wait.

That said (and I think I forgot to say this last time I posted about the game), I'm still hoping this game will be good, because I'd love to play it. I really don't care about the real-world feasibility of the premise, as long as it's a good game.

Also, if United Korea managed to actually take over the country, then this would be a 2nd Revoluton.

The question is, who'd be our France this time? (slight joke, since France won our first one)

Posted by Seppli

Depending on review scores and user feedback, I'll get this around releasetime. Hopefully there's gonna be an MP demo.

Posted by MarkWahlberg

There is a White Castle in this game. How can this not be excellent?

Posted by Tonic7

Huh. I wasn't aware that this was a first person shooter. For some odd reason, I thought it was third person. Oh well.

And yes, the idea of North Korea invading the United States is, indeed, farcical. Just go with it, people!

Posted by MisterMouse

seems kind of cool

This is inaccurate... the Americans aren't fat enough.

Posted by Kazona

People find this premise to outlandish, yet they thought the story of MW2 was totally believable? Dude, what?

What this guy said. Also... it is almost 30 years to that point. Nobody belived 9/11 ever would happen but it did. Supend your disbelief people and just enjoy the ride. The game looks kind of cool.

People are commenting on it, not bitching about it. If the game is fun I bet people'll play it no matter who is invading who. Gameplay looks decent from the brief look we're allowed through this trailer. The armor worn by the troopers reminds me of Battlefield 2142 and Fuel of War.

Posted by RsistncE

Is this for real? Are people actually taking this shit seriously? ITS A VIDEO GAME.

Sons I am disappoint.

Posted by LOZZAT

I think what's most ironically funny is that they keep talking about the involvement of that writer from Apocalypse Now, and apart from the setting and specifics, from what he said in the trailer this could just as easily be a tale of the Vietnam War. South Vietnamese makeshift soldiers rising up against their oppressors or something like that...
Also, North Korea may be a backwards country, but it's completely fanatical nature makes for a great fictional modern-day oppressor, even if realistically it couldn't invade any modern capitalist country. Stop complaining people, please!
