I think what's most ironically funny is that they keep talking about the involvement of that writer from Apocalypse Now, and apart from the setting and specifics, from what he said in the trailer this could just as easily be a tale of the Vietnam War. South Vietnamese makeshift soldiers rising up against their oppressors or something like that...
Also, North Korea may be a backwards country, but it's completely fanatical nature makes for a great fictional modern-day oppressor, even if realistically it couldn't invade any modern capitalist country. Stop complaining people, please!

The funny thing is modern warfare 2 did the same plot and no one bitched about it... and that was a stupid plot. So what's the difference?

People are commenting on it, not bitching about it. If the game is fun I bet people'll play it no matter who is invading who. Gameplay looks decent from the brief look we're allowed through this trailer. The armor worn by the troopers reminds me of Battlefield 2142 and Fuel of War.

What this guy said. Also... it is almost 30 years to that point. Nobody belived 9/11 ever would happen but it did. Supend your disbelief people and just enjoy the ride. The game looks kind of cool.

This is definitely more unrealistic than a Russian land invasion (which, as I recall, didn't even really work that well in MW2 anyways). A lot more unrealistic. North Korea is basically just China's own little crazy pocket nation (kind of like Israel is for the US, sorta). And the Chinese still haven't really forgiven Japan for WWII. Which means China would probably be an ally in a fight like this, as it'd give them any excuse to destroy Japan.

Also, China is heavily invested both in the US government and economy. So yeah, they'd have our backs in this even if Europe wanted to sit around and wait.

That said (and I think I forgot to say this last time I posted about the game), I'm still hoping this game will be good, because I'd love to play it. I really don't care about the real-world feasibility of the premise, as long as it's a good game.

Also, if United Korea managed to actually take over the country, then this would be a 2nd Revoluton.

The question is, who'd be our France this time? (slight joke, since France won our first one)

It's written by the guy who wrote Red Dawn. It's completely outlandish and a little stupid and that will probably be reasons to enjoy the story. It's going to be a dumb action movie you play.

At least it looks more coherent then MW2 was.

Their logo (Kaos Studios) is something out of 3DO status lol !! I get a very Delta Force feel from this game, which is to say that it makes good trailers, but plays horribly.

I think my thing is, there are totally horrible decimations of countries going on right now, and have been throughout time, and it seems to me like they just sat down and said "Right so. What do most people feel most attached to? Modern day America? Right so that's under threat. Don't ask how." They're taking the plot pretty seriously for such a non-sensical story.

I just think they are covering what seems to be a very generic FPS with a somewhat alternative story, that isn't really alternative at all. Also is it just me or is the voice-over in this trailer laughably half-assed? It seems like someone took their bad-shit insano-story just a tad to seriously :P

Yeah, but I fought the idea was that the US was overrun because most of it's forces were abroad. Oh, and bunker busters wouldn't be affected against civilian areas (and the C-17 isn't a bomber).
