Chair Entertainment and Epic Games have been talking up Infinity Blade's multiplayer mode for a while now, but as of right now (well, last night), you finally have a chance to play it. The update's been dubbed Infinity Blade: Arena, and like the previous update for this impressive iOS release, it doesn't cost anything.

Infinity Blade: Arena isn't just multiplayer, though. The update also brings Survivor Mode, which does pretty much exactly what you'd expect, a plethora of new items and weapons (including some seasonal ones), Facebook support to share your customized character with friends and some new achievements.

The companies are also promising "some new surprises" alongside the update, which will likely take the Internet all of an hour to figure out.

Would this not make for an interesting Kinect download?

wow, never thought of that. sounds interesting.

maybe they could implement it in that kung fu thing they had in the original trailers for it.

Just got an iphone last week and this too. Loving it, great news.

I'm guessing this is the news Brad was probably referring to on the bombcast. Sounds alright.

Please tell me Giant Bomb isn't going to start covering iphone shit now. Tested has already been destroyed by doing nothing but iPhone content, I don't want GB to go the same way.

Dang I was hoping now that download titles were less of a bad word in the gaming industry Chair would be putting manpower into another Shadow Complex game...  Losing out to iOS games sucks.

Chair, stop with this iOS foolishness and make Shadow Complex 2 already!!!

@Enigma777@Wandrecanada

Not really, the game is actually really good.

Chair should be making Shadow Complex 2 not iPhone games.

It's alright but it's no Shadow Complex...

Roar.

@Enigma777: It's not and that's a good thing. I don't want more developers to keep making franchises, I want them to try other things and do other projects.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Shadow Complex but Infinity Blade is also a really good game by Chair.

I like Infinity Blade a lot. It's probably the best game I've played while sitting on a toilet. Well, that or Peggle.

I just bought it... It crashes every 3 minutes. Gonna try restarting and reinstalling it to my iPad.

sounds like a pretty substantial and solid update.

I'll take a sequel to my 2009 GOTY over any new IP. Sometimes it's ok to itterate on what has been sucessfull before and there's absolutely nothing wrong with sequels. Hell, I'd hapily argue that most of the greatest games of all time are sequels.

Yeah that really isn't a bad idea at all.

@Enigma777: Just a difference in opinion but sequels are becoming pretty stagnant to me.

@crusader8463: Hey I like the tested apps of the week stuff.

That's fine, but as someone who doesn't own a phone, and has zero interest in ever buying one, tested has pretty much become pointless to me since 75% of all they do is i/smart phone related articles. I love Will and listening to their stuff on the podcasts, but so much of it is devoted to talking about something I couldn't care less about, and I can never force myself to sit through that stuff. I tried just skipping over those sections, but I tend to listen to podcasts on my MP3 player and it's a pain in the ass to Fast Forward with the thing.

As for the articles on the site itself, well if it's not an article about some apple product or a smart phone then it's about some coffee machine. None of those things interest me. The rarest of rare occasions when they have some article that has something to do with Windows or some cool science related thing it's something I already read about, or is just some "my first computer" article about how to burn DVD's or a list of shortcuts.

Seeing this just makes me worried that if Giant Bomb starts doing news and articles about smartphone related games that they are just going to start churning out the same crap that tested does.

The Multiplayer is quite unfair... I mean, when you play as the big brutish monsters, you're slow as all feck. There's no way you'd be able to win the very first round as a monster. Unless your rival is 6-months old... Maybe.
