Yes. looking forward to this
Holy shit. Voss is the name of my home town. Far Cry 3 looks much more like the game I want than the disappointing Far Cry 2.
Overall I was disappointed by Far Cry 2 because the way the open world was designed was terrible imo. I hope they might have learned from Assassin's Creed on how they should make an open world game and make FC3 awesome. It has potential to be something special.
Man I want this now. :D
Loved Farcry 2 shame it didn't sell better between this Skyrim, Rage, Prey 2, dead Island etc the open world genre is getting really interesting. Which is great for me as I love open world games like this.
if there are more crazy dudes like Vose, only in their own way, in Far Cry 3, I think it could be a neat experience.

Can someone link me to that alternate playthrough he was talking about?
Will be posted in the coming weeks
I'm not only looking forward to this game because I enjoyed 2, but I'm also looking forward to end of the year 2012 discussions, because I've got a feeling Voss is going to make the Best New Character list, hands down.

Nolan North. He's got a lot of demons he deals with...Should have asked who the voice actor was!! i think people want to know!
"It's got an AK-47, a sniper rifle and even a silenced weapon!" You know, like every other shooter out there.
I guess sometimes PR just get stuck in a mode. He still did a good job of selling the game. If they can pull off those sort of character performances across the board, I'm definitely interested.
I like Brad dropping the Emerging Gameplay bomb. It's such a vaguely descriptive phrase. It pretty much applies to every game if you think about it.
it's a small thing but still annoys me, especially since this dude is the guy speaking for his game... the assault rifle you pick up is not an AK-47, it's an AK-74... the guy talking about the game should at least know the difference before bragging about it

Emergent. Specifically; arising or occurring unexpectedly.

How do you tell the difference between the two?
It might just be me but this sounded like less of an interview and more like brad asking questions and the other guy just stuck to pre-rehearsed script no matter what.

The weapon is a hybrid between both the 47 and 74. The frame is that of a 74 and the magazine is a 47. Creative freedom and legal restrictions.
it's the round part at the end of the barrel and the sound it makes that gave it away for me, again, it wouldn't bother me so much if he had just sad "you've got your AK..." the guy just kinda smacks of trying to hype up the game without knowing the specifics@WiqidBritt said:

It's nice to know that little bit extra from the developer's mouth, especially for a game like this that could be something special.

Ugh I wish Brad had actually asked him what we are all thinking about: Are they getting rid of the re-spawning enemy bullshit from Far Cry 2
I like Brad dropping the Emerging Gameplay bomb. It's such a vaguely descriptive phrase. It pretty much applies to every game if you think about it.Well, he's right. That was the best part of Far Cry 2, where your car breaks down, you leg it, weapon jams, switch to molotov cocktail to make a fire wall, rely on handgun. Possibly die, have your buddy recover you, but he might go down, you only had 2 syringes left, so you've got to let him die.

Those unexpected scenarios are what made the game most memorable compared to other linear FPSs.
Exactly. Far Cry 2 was an amazing game because of this.
Emergent gameplay happens only when a game gives you enough freedom to get bored. Plenty of games (or players even) haven't got the balls for that.

I feel like that's a good quote.
Far Cry 2 is the most under rated shooter of 08. If you are a fan of FPS's but tired of the same formula plaguing most shooters these days its definitely worth a look.

That maybe a little bit too specific for this interview, but it's the one thing I worry about, and one of the things that kept me from finishing Far Cry 2.
I am really looking forward to this, hopefully they tweak the issues people had with Far Cry 2.
So excited for this. Loved the gameplay in Far Cry 2 but was really disappointed with the story and chracters and this sounds like its addressing my complaints.
Looks like it borrows the setting from FC1 and the general vibe of FC2. Can't wait.

I'm noticing a major lack of E3 rages on. I'm disappointed.
Oh, you mean E3 rage, son?
