Wish we could have heard Troy Baker say 'Get Bent' in Kanji's voice....
Anyways, awesome voice actors, can't wait!

The fuck? The comments section was infiltrated by weeaboos! EDIT: Actually, the majority seem to be sensible people who know that Atlus is awesome at localizations.
Please never use the term weeaboo ever again.

Going to import this because there is still no word on a UK release
There are some rumours going around that there may be an October release date in the UK, but there hasn't been anything official announcement, as far as I know. A pity. I've been looking forward to giving this game a go for a while now. I guess we just need to keep our fingers crossed.
B-B-B-BONER BREAKER
Psyched for the game, seeing as how its P4 Team's first PS3 game. Obviously, I'm waiting for news on P5 - this'll get me by for now.

This.
People are fucking stupid.
I'll admit to being a guy who usually switches to the original audio when possible (whatever the origin may be), but I know a good dub when I see one. Troy Baker's one of the best in the industry. Haven't seen much of Travis' work... only thing that comes to mind right now is Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist, but I thought that was a good performance too. Anyone who was satisfied with Persona 4's localization doesn't need to be worried here, I should think.

I'll still buy it but I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I am not fluent in Japanese but I know enough to appreciate good acting, and Catherine has some really great names in the cast. Even if the quality of the dub is great, there are certain things that just won't transfer correctly. I just don't see why it's still an issue with the huge storage capacity disks have these days.As noted a million times, it's got everything to do with licensing issues and not space.

You're an idiot.YAY mediocre dub i really REALLY hope they have the japanese voices in there or else that would be a huge bummer

Looking at Troy Baker's imdb listing gave me quite a bit of faith... Most of his roles that I've seen have been pretty solid....
I haven't seen much of Travis Willingham's work though.
The true test is going to be the female voices though... hopefully they aren't completely shrill and unbearable

@msgrimmey: Because the people that are complaining have appreciation for the Japanese voice acting? I don't see how it's any different than complaining if they changed all the music. I watch/listen to a lot of Japanese media, so I am familiar with a lot of the voice actors in Catherine's Japanese cast. I like them a lot so it was one way of knowing I'd really enjoy the game. They cut it out, so I'm complaining. You'd do the same if it were something you wanted to see or hear in a game, so why are you pretending like this is just incomprehensible? The thing is you have to realize is that there is not real DEMAND for it from Atlus, Not to mention legal issues a company must go through to even GET the japanese dub, you know they need consent from them as well right? So why go through all these hoops when they are supplying an excelling dub in the first place?
I want to work at Atlus. Everyone associated with that place seems so chill.
@koutsu, that's not what bugs me. What bugs me are the people who say, 'OH THIS SHIT IS GONNA SUCK.' When all we've heard are little snippets from commercials, at least wait til you can actually hear a good chunk of it.
pretty good interview considering Atlus probably told them not to say shit about the story of the game and everyone pretty much knows the gameplay.
I'm fine with this. Normally I prefer Japanese audio, but Atlus games (especially Persona) usually feature pretty decent English dubs. They're far from perfect, and that's okay because these games should have a certain degree of cheese and goofyness.

Dude. Atlus has the best localization team, why are people complaining?
Becos' they be so W33aB00 H@rdc0r3 fur l!f3!
The only problem I'm going to have with the NA voice acting is that it might be hard to disassociate them with previous characters they've played, but I don't need to start flinging shit at the wall demanding a JP voice track. As far as picking it up, it's not a day 1 purchase, it's a already paid in full and just waiting for it to arrive purchase.
Looks decent enough to me, people who want the original language can just import the original (at least for PS3 it's easy enough). It's a pretty enjoyable game, so I wouldn't let something like the language it's in deter you. While I appreciate wanting your media in as close to the original format as possible (I do as well, with everything from movies to games) sometimes there just isn't necessarily the demand there.
Thankfully, there are always imports, though the current exchange rate may make it hard for folks in the US. I paid 60,000 yen for my copy, I have no idea what that translates to in USD these days.
I'm also getting the vibe that the guy on the left loooooooooooves
WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
It's cool to see some of these people behind the localized characters,
wish they'd at least try an offer a deluxe version in my morose part of Europia though.

People like you are the worst. Atlus's localizations are some of the best in the industry.
Only of a few of us will be playing for the story + gameplay, everyone else will be getting it because they think it's a hentai game.
This video is really irritating.Aye. They spend a lot of time talking about the most pointless question, and gloss over the only vaguely interesting one(what was it like working on it?).
While people are harsh on english dubs (both cases) it has been a great deal of a a lot better of the years with people demanding quality in what they watch and western companies took notice and have improved it. They continue to improve while the fanbase can't seem to cope with the idea that english dubs can actually big good. But then again, people can be set in their ways.@Catolf: I wasn't comparing Ar Tonelico 3 to Cathrine. We were talking about why so many people don't care for English dub in anime and games. Obviously if everything had the quality that Atlus usually puts out then this wouldn't be worth talking about.

@Catolf: Its because NISA does its dubs cheap because its budgets are much smallerI think if they put some actual TLC into thier dubs it could actually be good. But they don't. Might be done cheap but a little guidance does wonders.
It comes up a lot, there is always that group who wants it, complains tot he wrong people instead of going to the source and talking to them like civilized people. Unless your paying close attention you usually miss the people demanding a dub cause of their small numbers. (not insignificant) but small.I wonder why this game, in particular, seems to be causing this demand for a JP dub on Giant Bomb. Or has this conversation happened with every Japanese game with only an EN dub, and this is just the first time I've noticed it?
