Glad there paying some attention to the PC version.
I love how these xbox devs keep mentioning the PC whenever they say something passionate
@Helushune: I'm talking about Halo 1, like the Xbox game this was based on. I don't even know what the proper name of the map is for Halo CEA, I'm was just trying to explain to someone why people are calling it Beaver Creek instead of Battle Creek. Even if I was some sort of super hacker type, I'm pretty sure I haven't read the "Halo CEA Leaked" headline yet, so what you suggest is impossible.
On another note, if you really do work on Halo, maybe you should stop commenting on the Internet and arguing with fans and go take a vacation and get rid of your stress, because the game looks great, and you're not doing it any favors by being hostile and complaining that you have a job in gaming.
@Pudge: I'm confused how you would know the name of a map file on an unreleased product.
@Helushune:You seem like an angry person, whoever you are. And the map is beavercreek in the files on the game disc, that's just a fact sir.
Uhhhh 343, you have a game that was released 10 years ago... All you have to do is copy that! Then if you want to add a new map or some other things as optional fine..but with are a bunch of the original maps not being shown or not in there at all.
I'm really excited about this, the chance to re-live the original game with 3 other players seems pretty awesome. The experience is still pretty fresh since I didn't play Halo: CE until 2007, but I trust 343 Industries to make this new release worthwhile.
Man. I am not the biggest Halo fan (I've played them all, but only really "loved" CE PC), but I am so goddamn excited for this game. I really hope they grab some more of the PC maps--my favourite maps in all of Halo.
In order of "GODDAMN 343, PUT IT IN":
1. Death Island
2. Gephyrophobia
3. Timberland (WIN)
4. Danger Canyon
5. Infinity
6. Ice Fields
Not that hard considering the game has already been made for them?Major props to 343, has to be hard as hell to take a massively popular series away from the original creators and then to remake the first game that people already love.

It's completely missing the point if you're going to use the Reach engine for the remade maps. I might actually get this if they were actually making the multiplayer gameplay true to the original like they're doing with the singleplayer.
They will have a Reach gametype that has a similar feel to Halo CE, including a three-headshot, bloomless Magnum.

I swear if they make the rest of these maps into a map pack... I 'll probably buy them because those maps were good.
These maps won't feel the same with Reach's multiplayer :( (I played Halo PC multiplayer for YEARS)
Memory of this game is basically the PC Version which ran on our college computers. Too bad a Xbox looks nothing like an PC and can't be smuggled in :p

*unnecessary language*Relax man, no need to be hyperbolic. It's better that the developers feel comfortable posting here, rather than have to walk into ad hominem attacks. GB is better than that.
Well said, I wish there was a "Like" button next to comments sometimes.
I think some Halo fans just need to chill. If you don't like it, it's ok, the original still exists. I get your frustration in some respects, but I think this looks good. I'll reserve more serious judgement at least until I can play it...

@Helushune: Sure you have, buddy.
Anyways its a lot better than bumping up the resolution and slapping it on a disk like all the other guys are doing.
Yup I'm looking at Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD remake, such great games don't deserve a mediocre re-release.
What I would give to re-assemble my old Halo "team" from freshman/sophomore year of college and play this with them again. I've never experienced as unique a magic in any other multiplayer game as I did with the original Halo over the LAN.
It's the first time I ever really played a game enough to be on an entirely different level of skill than your average player and something I've never really replicated since.
The reskins of the maps look gorgeous as well. We may have spent most of our time in Blood Gulch and Sidewinder but that prison map gave me some glorious flashbacks of landing on an enemy from above and clubbing them in the back of the neck.
Hey, FUCK YOU 343! Why not just give us Halo 1 with all the ORIGINAL MAPS without your "artistic tweaks"! This is fucking ridiculous. I was going to buy this until I saw that it was REACH 1.5. Fuuuuuck that.
Re-release Halo 1 with Online, untouched by your greasy dirty fingers, and we'll talk. Again, go fuck yourself 343.
All I would have wanted from a Halo 1 remake would be for them to improve the graphics and add online play. I don't mind extra maps being added, but not including all of the original Halo 1 multiplayer maps is so frustrating...it's seriously forehead-slap inducing. You don't release a remake of a game that doesn't include the full game. There are going to be people that buy this who don't visit gaming blogs that are going to be expecting to play Boarding Action, Derelict, Chill Out, and others, but they are simply not going to be there. And then there is the added frustration that this product does not include Blood Gulch because we are supposed to be satisfied with the mediocre Forge version included with Halo Reach.
I personally am sad at the lack of inclusion of Chill Out....
I can't be the only one who adored that map.
Seriously, I have not cared about another HALO game till this one. Pistol, 3 heads dead!? All old maps, even some from PC version (I sank 1600 hours into ). Timberland! Oh MAN!!! What a fantastic level that was!!! Can't WAIT!!! Hope they add all te new maps from HALO PC. Can't wait!!!!! I'm back in..
Glad you guys dig what you're seeing. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the entire game. On behalf of everyone working on this game I say thanks!
It's cool that they're releasing the 6 original maps exactly as they were with a graphical overhaul and also releasing those same maps with some 343 touch to make them play better with Reach multiplayer. So, they're actually packing in 12 maps. I'll probably play the updated ones more but jumping into the oldies will be cool too.
Plus, adding marines to Firefight is a great idea. I'm really looking forward to trying that out.
Obviously, I can't say whether you really have. But why would you try and persuade people that this isn't a proper remake of the game? Because then people wouldn't want to buy it. When I think if you had something to do with the game or were involved with it, you'd actually would want people to pick it up.@BeefyGrandmole: Indeed. Working on Halo makes me sad.

Im gonna pass on this game. Since I have no interest in replaying Halo 1, I don't wanna pay $60 for what is basically a Halo: Reach Map Pack. I will wait till Halo 4 to get back into the series
It's only like 35$.. pretty good deal

I love how much work they are putting into this to both make sure it is the exact same, but still brings something different to every map/mode.
Prisoner? Really? Was never a fan of that map. Id much rather have Sidewinder and Rat Race then Prisoner which will just be way to jet pack happy for my liking.
@Enigma777: Best part about my job is I can tell people what I've worked on and they all give me the same asinine response of "sure you have".
