"Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away" You mean I won't have to walk around with an arrow stuck to my neck? Sweet. Hopefully the texture fixes also fix the textureless dragons that pop up from time to time (fixed with a restart of the game).

"ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)" Wait... I couldn't do that? Huh.

"Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)" THAT'S A BUG IN THE GAME?! I thought that was my lachesis acting up, razer "quality" and all.

Could they please also fix quest items lingering in your inventory even after you handed them in? They take up weight, so it's annoying since you "finished" the quest... even tho the option remains to talk about it in the talking interface..........

There's also the part of uncompletable quests lingering in your quest log, like "talk to the master of ___ guild" when YOU are the master of said guild. I thought Skyrim was supposed to move quests to another character if the original quest giver was dead? WTF Blizz?

I expect a TON of patches for this game. And AT LEAST 2 expansion packs. Or a ton of DLC, going the fall out route. I think that'll be for the best, because I know I'll be buying all the DLC that comes...

Now instead of lag crippling the game on the PS3 after an hour of play it only cripples it after 2 hours. Great.

Aaaaand this is the main reason why I don´t buy Bethseda games at launch.

I actually got this once. It was kinda awkward when a dead Lydia laid at the door during the ceremony x3

It was hesitant too but gave into the 'WANT' and got it day 1. I haven't encountered anything gamebreaking (yet - knock on wood) except for a couple of items which remained in my inventory after I completed the quest.

Eh, Skyrim preforms extremely well and a majority of all of the glitches can be solved by saving and restarting the game or are just cosmetic and amusing.

Fuck yes. This is all I wanted to see.

I wonder if the dragons not attacking thing will fix the fact that Ancient Dragons fucking REFUSE to land and simply will NOT focus on me if there are any other softer targets in the area for it to fuck with, be it companions, guards, my horse, town NPCs, animals, whatever.

That is seriously the most annoying fucking thing in this game.

I realize there is a shout that basically pulls dragons to you, but if I can make it to 47 without finding said shout it's a problem.

There's a skeleton key?? I must find.

I ran into a glitch today that made it so I could only select things from the favorites menu with the X button (PS3), triggers unresponsive, weapons would not unholster when I hit square. To fix it I had to select magic for both hands, then I could holster and unholster again. weird.

This happened to me as well! It was fixed by equipping from the Items menu I think.

So far that patch has ironed out 90% of the lag I was experiencing and has otherwise been fine.

Maybe now my game won't be obsessed with showing me comparisons between 360 and original X-Box graphics.

Posted by ToTheNines

was hoping they'd also fix the random crash to desktop during gameplay. I've adjusted my settings so it dosen't happen so often anymore, but the fact that it does every now and then is still annoying.

I only had two people come to my wedding :( hell I wouldn't mind a dead guest or two.

Does this mean lock-picking with a controller will trigger vibration?

Gosh Darnet. Spoilers. I had no idea you could get married. Im starting my boycott of this website now.
My apologies if that's a joke but there's a freakin' achievement/trophy for getting married, and it isn't part of any massively interesting plot.

@Shaunage: I had the same problem until I found the cave entrance (by jumping off the cliff :P). Which is north to the fallen tower ruin (with 2 bear in it). Go back a little from the tower to west (on the road) till you see few rock sign then go north and you will find the cave. Unfortunately the arrow shows the book location not the entrance.

I DLed the patch yesterday and it seems to have fixed the framerate issue. My question is, is there anything that can be done for the game randomly freezing? Or is that a system failure and not software related? I haven't had it freeze that often (about four times in over 70+ hours of play), but it has frozen on me before. I'm tending to think it is software related because my other games never cause the system to freeze [PS3 version].

Playing on PC with a 580 there are no frame rate issues. It runs butter smooth all the time. Game rarely crashes. I did experience the bug where projectiles would not vanish and I walked around with a big ice shard stuck in my arm for ages. Tried reloading and zoning to get rid of it, but no go. Getting shot by another ranged enemy seemed to finally make it vanish. Haven't run into any bugs that kill a quest line, but I am only level 10.

I am curious to see how well this patch improves the textures because they are flat and blurry in places. It will be great if they get them popping out in all their glory! But the patch notes only mention Xbox texture issues being fixed.

Posted by McWhoopass

Yay! I've been waiting for this. I just hope it fully helps with the PS3 framerate issues. But more importantly, thank god they fixed the wedding guest glitch. Do you know how hard it is to plan a wedding reception when people keep showing up dead?

Fix the crash issue(s)!

Would be nice if Bethesda was paying us to test the game further post-launch, seen plenty of moments where some bunch of rocks don't quite connect with the ground leaving things floating off the ground or a hole looking through one end of the rock through the geometry in addition to the same NPC near the whiterun stables copied 2x so all 3 of the NPC is standing near the stables & moments where some ground texture detail vanishes.

On my PS3 the load times are horrendous, worse than in New Vegas on the 360 that I was bitching about last year. It also takes a long time for the menu to open the PS3 save/load dialogue. The framerate is also quite poor. I am impressed by the battle animations and crazy amazed by the night sky. I don't think that puzzle at the start of the main storyline was a good idea, I wonder how many people stopped playing there.

Posted by SpawnMan

You needed a patch of minor issues to begin playing Skyrim again? So what if the textures don't load, I'm still playing.

Skyrim is, after 70+ hours of gameplay so far, the most stable Beth~ game I've played so far. I've not fallen down the world, I've not gotten myself stuck, I've had 5 crashes during this time (and I think all of them have resulted from excessivly long play-sessions). Stability is, so far, the least of my troubles with Skyrim (PC). Streamlining the interface and controls to fit a PC, bugged quest items staying in your inventory/bugged quests are top priority fixes to me and I hope they'll be adressed soon. I don't even know if the bards collage is an actual guild or not, because every single quest there is bugged - I have quest items, but can't turn them in (turned them in once, but they stayed in my inventory, and I got the reward, and now nothing happens. I was really excited with the first quest I got from them since I was like "oh, you mean a bards collage like from the time where Bards were Bards and had their own games named after them, not when they went around playing harps on street corners to buff people?" .. I can live with dragons turning pink and not showing any textures after 8-9 hrs of gameplay, a quick restart will fix it. It's much harder when, as some people have experienced, quests become uncompletable.

Posted by HKDoomenstein23

The projectiles were annoying, I walked around with an ice spike sticking out of my neck and thigh and an arrow in the head. It didn't look very realistic as my guy sprints across the field, still alive.

Patch is out, but it apparently eliminates all resistance. Racial resistance and anything you put on your equipment is now set to nothing. I still don't know if that is worth the faster loading times since I was waiting for this patch to install the game to my HD.

Do you, or anyone else, know if starting a new game with a different character will fix the issue? Or is it completely nullified?

Posted by Shaunage

I know it's unrelated, but my 360 3-red-lighted within one minute of installing this patch.

Now I have to play something else for ~ 2 weeks. :(

The scariest thing is happening right now. Every time I load into Skyrim the game freezes after around five minutes and the most current save made in that time period goes corrupted... So I'll stop playing for some hours and then see what happens.

"Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death"

That's the only one I've hit/noticed. Had two dragons not give up the ghost, but wasn't sure if it was because I had already killed a dragon too close to that spot or what.

Even after the patch, I still ran into a dragon that didn't give me a soul. Maybe because it was already in the world before the patch; I had already seen this dragon, the one up on Eldersblood.

It will take months to iron everything out. Games have gotten so complex that release titles are often more like a polished beta than a perfect product. That is just the way it is.

Either the NVIDIA beta 290.36 or the latest Skyrim Steam v 1.2.12.0?

... after reloading the game it disappeared. First graphic glitch I have seen with the vanilla version of the game (no mods). Cannot say anything further about the patch since it's just an hour or so, since I had the update. [edit:] Furthermore, to complicate things, this does not have to be patch or driver related at all (!) - could just be a regular cache fail loading the proper texture assets in time. Many bitch about the Embyro engine, but the fact is, this thing is robust and running heavily modified for ages - ask the mod community.
