Darn it. Was hoping Patrick was being limited to Endurance Runs I don't watch :|
Oh God, is that vertical sync issue with the game or the capture? Combined with the terrible, jittery camera it's seriously making me sick to my stomach. I'm wishing I didn't eat that sandwich before watching this...
Amy good Gorilla!
Possibly the worst part about the stuttering in the intro is that it is totally pre-rendered. A crappy low res movie. I can't think of a reason why the framerate is so bad.
Still, this really isn't that bad. You can get much worse in a full boxed product.
Apparently they hired Tiny Lister to be the train attendant.
Deadly Premonition for 2012?
It came out same day on PSN as X360 in my neck of the woods.
funny quick look
I wonder if the frame rate is as god-awful on the PSN version. Too bad I'll never know.

Amy, as far as I know, doesn't have a whistle song that drowns out all other noise. Therefore, Deadly Premonition is leagues better.
The faces. My God, the faces. Uncanny Valley barely covers this shit.
those faces are from long decayed bodies that were buried deep in Uncanny Valley.
but overall, this really doesn't look as terrible as people make it out to be. the combat seems to be sucky and the voice acting is bad but that's true for many games. if the screen tearing and framerate gets adressed in the PC version, I see myself picking it up in the eventual steam sale down the line.
looking forward to Silent Hill HD
It all looks terrible, but Marchello was so bad it was actually great.
combat reminds me of the SAW games
It looks like all of the worst parts of Deadly Premonition, and looks to take itself way too seriously.
There should be a law stating that if a film, tv show or game depicts a child drawing a scary picture the producers have to give us cash.

Look out for sticky puddles.
Oh Vinny, you and your Congo references.
Klepek's got the wrong idea about the combat in the game. As with a good number of survival horror games (i.e. the first Silent Hill), you're NOT supposed to fight the enemies. Fighting zombies in this game is SUPPOSED to be hard! You know, tension and release, that sort of thing.
I kinda want to see a Siren Quick Look now that Patrick's talked it up.
@Marcness: I agree, but the combat here just seems border line broken, and with checkpointing not being very good I get no tention or release having to do something multiple times because i get caught in an animation loop.
So I tried the demo after watching this.
It made me wish I was playing Deadly Premonition, which controls way better. And THAT game controls like crap.
Wow, Marchello is such a super creeper! Vinny's interpretation of his dialogue was pretty damn hilarious, though. Funny QL, but not a great looking game, sadly; I was hoping it'd be decent. For some reason, I hate scary movies but really enjoy scary/survival horror games.
Dig Deeper into Amy
@Daiphyer: Shit do users vote for best Quick Look of the year? I don't frequent the forums as much as I should, this should be a thing though and I'd happily vote for QL of the year :)
Heard some bad stuff about this.
This takes place in the same universe as Blue Stinger right?
Best Quick Look of the new year!
I agree. i have found it far more entertaining and ....ermm horrorish to avoid fighting or just plain run all together
Other than the combat and the prospect of lousy checkpointing I was sorta into this game.
you know what they say about big hands WEEEEEE!
"I was purposely being bad".
*Dies again and crys to the lord almighty.*
There's a very big difference between a difficult combat system that immerses you, and a broken and bad combat system.
After a crazy ebay deal, I'm flush with 12,000 MSP. I think I'll pick this up so that hopefully more horror games will come to XBLA.
I'm so excited that someone loved Siren: Blood Curse other than me. One of my favorite horror games of all time. So under-appreciated.
I wasn't always a cab driver.
This looks... not very good.
It is unfortunate that this game seems so bad, because there are a lot of interesting ideas that I see.
I really wish this had been better/a more convincing survival horror game. It's been way too long since we've had a decent one.
That said, this QL just reinforces my opinion that Vinny needs to do some VO work.
Dude Vinny and Patrick made a really rad team.
Wow this game is something else, I have to make a mental note of the developers name so I don't accidentally show interest for anything they do in the future.
For some reason, I laughed uncontrollably when Amy pushed the button.
I guess I am not buying this one the. :(

Marcello looks like he's from Innsmouth from the Call of Cthulhu game!
Exactly what I was thinking!
Not really digging V W Half Life sign.
This was painful to watch... Patrick was making it look far harder, clunkier, and just generally more broken than the game actually is.
There also appears to be a fair amount of confusion about what this game is... It is NOT a horror survival game! The game is in fact a puzzle game, with a VERY simple fighting mechanic.
To first address the puzzle aspect... everything seen in this video is just the tutorial... and basically Patrick calls an end to the video at the very first puzzle... where the game actually begins... In other words, what is seen in the video is not a good representation of how the game plays out.
As for the combat... It really is just a simplified version of the Assassins Creed fighting engine... You simply just keep bashing the dodge button until you see your opening, then bash the attack button... it's actually quite hard to die, and certainly not as broken as it appears in this video, or as hard as Patrick was making it look.
However, having said that, i'm not under an delusion that this is a "great" game or anything... I just don't feel it is as bad as reviewers and this video make it out to be... For 800pts (£7) it kept me entertained for a couple of days, and i've certainly paid higher for worse games from XBLA.
why is this so quiet
