Still plays fantastic in my opinion; never had any issues with precision outside of a couple odd camera choices. Something that I feel that Galaxy and 3D Land have lost is the great sense of speed and momentum that Mario 64 had.
The camera can be frustrating occasionally, but if you learn to work with it it's good the vast majority of the time.
100% it nowadays is pretty easy to be perfectly honest. It's not as ridiculously easy as NSMB DS or Mario 3D Land (apart from half a dozen "Hard" levels), but it's still a ton of fun to come back too every once and a while. Definitely not "pull your hair out" frustrating, but it does ask for a LITTLE bit of effort from players on a few occasions.
When's the last time you played the N64 version? It's pretty rough dude. You can disagree with me but try to holster that sarcasm while you explain why.
