What the fuck is this game? - Brad Shoemaker.
They're really going for the episodic anime series feel here, complete with mid-episode commerical bumpers and next episode teasers. All that's really missing are an opening and closing theme, and who knows, maybe they're unlockable extras?
This game apparently does what it sets out to do really well. It doesn't set out to do whatever Brad seems to think it is setting out to do. Kind of a dick move to spend the whole quick look talking about how crazy and cool everything is and end telling people they shouldn't buy it because it doesn't register to him as a $60 title. Wait for it to hit $30 seems really harsh considering he didn't seem to have any complaints outside of what he perceived to be the game's length. He could have just stayed quiet about the cost proposition and just told people "Ok so that's the game, if that looks like something you would want, it's $60 and it's out now" but he had to just dwell on that shit. Give the developer a break.

Finally an interesting Quick Look to watch.
The game may not be great, but this quick look was amazing.
I dig what they're going for, but not to the tune of $60. That's a bit past my personal threshold of what this kind of experience is worth. Something to check out later, cheaper.
Even with Brad acting pretty negative toward the idea and designs of Asura's Wrath, this looks completely up my alley. Goddamn that finger poke.
The way the character runs around with his hands out reminds me of Wolverine for some reason.
"Is that a star destroyer?" The game didn't seem that crazy until that point. Crazy, yes, but not that crazy.
This game has a tonne of style and looks really cool, but the way every scene is paced like a 10-minute anime is so weird, and it kind-of making it seem really boring.
EDIT-- Alright, the second half of this Quick Look is less boring.
I have the feeling the game woun't do well, but I really really hope it does well. I want such insanity to succeed.
Looks all right, I like the style. I don't think it's the video player...this game has massive amounts of tearing doesn't it? And some heavy framerate hitching. Asuradly getting this down the road when it drops in price(ha ha?)
This game looks super cool, but I'd rather watch someone play it . If it eventually goes dirt cheap ( which it probably will in the near future) , I will get it.

It is literally his job to tell people if he thinks something is worth the money or not, how the hell can you say "Give the developer a break"with a straight face? Should you give Obsidian a break because Alpha Protocol was totally fucked up, especially on PC, just because it had some cool stuff? No, you shouldn't, that game was a fucking mess and never should have been released like that. And what is essentially an anime (and at most is the length of a 'season' of an anime, and likely not even that) that has some not so hot gameplay may be worth $60 to you, and that's awesome, but it's not the truth. And Brad has every right to say he thinks people should wait and pay less money for it.
This game is absurd. Its just a giant QTE with little playable beatem up/rail shooter parts. But damn does it look good.
This is definitely a game where an argument can be made to release games at a cheaper price point. While I bought it and have enjoyed the 6 episodes I've played so far, it's not for everyone and it probably won't do well. It's a good thing Cyber Connect 2 will probably make all their money back when their next Naruto game comes out next month.

So, Goku is climbing the tower agian, huh?
That's what I was thinking.
Also, the voice actor is the same one that played War in Darksiders. At least that's what I thought.

I totally agree with that. This game has issues and is definitely no for everyone and in the end Brad seemed impressed by the qualities the game has. If it´s worth 60$? Well that´s up to you to decide.
Oh, and this game totally has air juggles. Just saying.
Also, it baffles me why this isn't at Redbox. Every Blockbuster in town is out or didn't get copies, and GameFly's low on the game. They really should have tried a lower pricepoint if it were possible.
I'm pretty into it. Man that scene where the guy lands, says a line and it cuts out for a moment, then it comes back and he says the line again only the scenes shown directly after is slightly different is so totally anime. It still seems like a weird thing to want to reproduce, especially since a lot of people just won't get the references, but maybe it is supposed to be attractive to a limited audience.
Anyway, not getting it.
Yea fuck that guy, like i will be the first to admit that i hated that darkness video with a passion, but you were really great in this quicklook,@Kanji: I think you may be confused about the purpose of this site, which is mainly to let us play and show off games and talk about what we think of them. Perhaps your interests would be better served elsewhere?
Really good looking stylish game, entertaining to look at also.
Non QTE gameplay should not even exist in this game that just hinders core experience and feels like filler.
in case some of you duders are interested in picking this up, apparently some targets messed up and are selling the game for $40

i say 50-60 bucks is ok because i dunno people payed 60 bucks for heavy rain, and that was a Adventure/QTE game with no real replay value as your playing it for the story ,
while this one is a onrails shooter/ QTE/ brawler game, with no real replay value as your playing it for the story
This is straight up interactive Anime.
*Edit* Damn the video keeps on ending for me a certain spots..
Some crazy levels of Japaneseness in there, but it feels like Bayonetta without the gameplay. Might wait for a bargain bin price drop.
Bumpers are the things that show up during the load screens I'd imagine. Like the Adult Swim bumpers, with the weird art and stuff?
What a weird game. If Brad was really at a third of the game, then the total can't be much more than 4 hours. Of wacky shit.
This looks like a great game to watch someone play on the internet from start to finish.
Th best kind of stupid. I loved the demo; I'm seriously considering what to get between this Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter x Tekken on March 9th. I'm really glad they fought the space guy before the Quick Look ended. Maybe they should try the demo to see the moon fight too, that's the same kind of ridiculous.
I't s a shame Brad's down on it, but QTEs are kind of divisive like that. I had a lot more fun playing Asura's Wrath's demo than Mass Effect 3's and I love the ME series.
This game tries to do for quick time events what Ico did for escort missions. I approve.
Also: BURST!!!
This release seems similar to Vanquish, which was pretty awesome, but only about 5-6 hours long. Though at least Vanquish had replay value and challenge levels. I will probably pick this up when it reaches bargain bin status though (i.e. $20 or so)
wow the previous medias that were release for this game painted this game really boring and uninteresting, but after this quick look, shit is going crazy left and right ahah
Too lazy to read all 95 previous comments, anyway the voice actor is Liam O'Brien, duders
Watching the tutorial section right now. This kind of reminds me of what would happen if Bayonetta was a man.
Hey. Totally loved how Brad was basically proven wrong in the first 10 minutes. (Even though he was totally right)
