So its pretty much Amplitude?
Not really, no.
What is going on?
It's Rock Band Unplugged.
all these plasticky games are the opposite of Rock'n'Roll, Duders ...
F-Zero in slo-mo? What?
John T. Drake, please explain!
This is pretty much Rock Band for the DS and PSP.
Amplitude mixed with RockBand? We shall see Harmonix.
Dapper Drake, MMMMM HMMMM
I have to say I don't understand at all how this is played based on this video.
This totally looks like Frequency/Amplitude to me. Could be interesting.
No, Amplitude and frequency are barely like this. This is like that really mediocre ipod game they developed called Phase expanded out into a full fledged game. In theory you can say it's like Amp or freq in that you hit buttons on a highway to music, but you could use that logic to say driving in a car down a highway hitting a xbox controllers buttons to music is like amp or freq.
Yesterday I was pessimistic about this game, but today I fear it won't turn out well at all. I am hoping -nay - praying it isn't absolute bollocks but two button lane highway looks horrendously unfun and "casualized". Also the lack of any real effect on the music and not setting up and clearing tracks to customize a song is missing. Also absent is a remix mode. These are KEY concepts that made Frequency and Amplitude what they are. They wheren't just "mash buttons" games, they had interesting gameplay innovations and ideas. Something that this title is lacking and frankly, Harmonix has been lacking since the release of Rock Band 1.
It just seems like someone at Harmonix saw a picture of Amplitude and figured they could mimic it and this is that. It lacks any of the soul and real gameplay concepts that those first games initially displayed with a even worse and cluttered UI.
Sigh, guess i'll be waiting another 10 years for a real Fr3quency to come out.
Rock Band Unplugged with an amplitude look. Funny that only a few years ago I barely knew the beatles, and now I recognize all these songs.
Doesn't this miss the point of Rock Band entirely? Racing through songs playing what is essentially Audiosurf mixed with amplitude just... Isn't Rock Band! You buy Rock Band to play songs on a plastic instrument or sing, not to play some color coded mario kart racer.
i don't like the looks of this.
...unless they tie-in some Wizorb action
Just two buttons? That's all? Man, my interest for this game just dropped a ton. I'm sure it'll still be good... but still.
And I have no idea what's going on in this game... someone please explain to me.
Colour me interested. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go play some Amplitude.
I thought they were not going to make any more Rock Band games. This is a pleasant suprise.
I don't understand this game.
So they're looking to be in the Summer of Arcade?
Audiosurf meets Rock Band? Looks like it.
It just seems like someone at Harmonix saw a picture of Amplitude and figured they could mimic it and this is that.
I would hope Harmonix would have seen their own game, since they made it.
looks like the PSP version, which was pretty fun.
I'ma go ahead and stick with Audiosurf.
Amplitude! I love Harmonix... bringing back the classics.
So much anger on the comments.Ease up,any game that would get Arkanoid in my music game deserves at least a passing glance.Or quick look,if you will.
I've been sold a bill of LIES! I shall be boycotting this product until dapper john drake is available as the bar or the ball.
John Drake is so ugly ,i just want to punch that ugly head,god...
I was conned into watching this video with false advertisement of John Drake!
Eh, wish they brought back the proper Frequency/Amplitude formula. This just seems so watered down. It also kind of sucks that they decided to make it just a Rock Band thing since the abstract nature of the gameplay lends itself to any kind of music.
2 Buttons?! I see........ let meeeee go geeeet something out of my car. *gets in car and drives away*
How many MSP for Dapper Drake?
This is easily my most anticipated game of 2012! Now we just need Harmonix to figure out how to interpret Rock Band song data so it can be played in Umjammer Lammy format.
I was really hoping for more Drake. :(
@Oddface: By making it a Rock Band thing, they get ~3500 songs available on day one, and can continue to support it going forward without having to license and chart music specifically for this game.

John Drake's Tweet (Seriously, look it up!):
Fuck You Brad Shoemaker!
I am unexcited about what the game play seems to be. But I will almost definitely buy it just to play the songs in Rock Band 3.

And for those looking for a full song playthrough, here's Bang Camaro's namesake tune:
Men caring about what other men look like. Pretty fucking homosexual if you ask me.
frequency and amplitude come back!!! :D
That screen cap is perfect even though it's not even in the trailer.
Dont have any rock band stuff anymore, but the songs, so this will be great:) cant wait!
