Other then the aforementioned control issues (which really aren't that bad at all) I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of indie games in general, it has all the staple indie traits (relatively simple on the outside, thought provoking on the inside, great original soundtrack and graphics that serve the game perfectly) which make the 'genre'

I'd buy it if I was you.

I just want to know why they wouldn't just assign your sword and shield to buttons. That's how they function on the ipad. They're buttons that appear on screen for you to press because you don't have any. With a mouse and keyboard you have 100 buttons or so. It's just another example of a developer not really thinking or even wanting to think about how their game can function on another medium. I guess we should be grateful it's on the pc at all.

It certainly plays like an iOS port. Otherwise great but tedious to play with a mouse.

So far I see no reason why it couldn't map the sword and shield to the left and right mouse button. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I'd have paid £3.74 just for the soundtrack. Almost bought the soundtrack for £6.99 just a couple of days before they announced this.

Just bought this and played the first "Session": I'm pretty impressed. Beautiful game and utterly gorgeous soundtrack. Moving around takes a bit of getting used to but when the game sounds this excellent I can overlook it. Plus you get a digital version of the soundtrack which is very cool.

Looks pretty sweet, the music sounds excellent, may get it just for the soundtrack and to support the dev

The writing is fucking terrible tbh. It destroys the atmosphere for me.

The more I think about it, I'm wondering whether the writing is annoying because it's in text instead of voice acted. Hell, maybe Bastion's narration would seem just as awkward if it was on-screen text.

Maybe if Sword & Sworcery could get a set of suitably eccentric voice actors who could pull off delivering those lines, it wouldn't be so bad. Still, the game's script reads like a fucking Wes Anderson movie, so you'd have to bring in the big guns for any of those lines to work. I'm talking nothing less than Jeff Goldblum and Deadpan Dramatic Bill Murray™.

Awesome. I've been waiting a really long time to play this game. It looks like a simple Zelda, which is great.

Been playing it for the last hour and beat the ...ummm giant triforce. Such a great atmospheric John Carpenterish soundtrack to go with the actions. Looks beautiful and is pretty funny if you read some of the inner-thought-tweets.

£3.74 for the game (which will no doubt look beautiful at 1920x1080) and the full soundtrack (which is amazing) is completely worth it for me.

This. I loved Clash of Heroes so when my girlfriend bought a used iPad 2, I grabbed this to try it out. The music and sound are amazing but the storytelling is awful and made very little sense (at least at about two and a half "sessions" in where I gave up) and there's barely any gameplay. I'm not going to use the P-word to describe the narrative that sends people into a fit but yes, that's what I think it is. People can draw their own conclusions of course but as a fan of adventure games and games that do "arty" with good gameplay to back them up (i.e. Braid), I was very disappointed. If I start a game, I'll almost always finish it even if it's bad and I gave up on this one. However, the next game they just announced, now that I'm very excited for.

@RockmanBionics: I played Super Time Force at PAX. BELIEVE THE HYPE.

So after approximately 30 minutes (which, according to the game are 17%) I can safley say that I don't get it.

Granted, I just finished the first "session" but I don't really get the game. I like the look, the music is quiet good but the gameplay is pretty boring so far (again: just 30 minutes in, take that as you will).

Also for some reason the controls are botched and I don't understand how this is possible.

But then again it's 4,5€ and the soundtrack is included so what the hell.

Might have to download this....always wanted to play this game =P

I just booted it up and spent about 10 minutes with it and it seems to be a little influenced by Adventure Time, but not in a way I enjoy.

Never caught Clash of Heroes on the DS, even if I very much enjoy the platform, a friend who played it there afterwards told me that many of the different factions' special units didn't have any abilities. That and the prospect of playing through story mode again kept me from picking it up there as well.

It's really frustrating that people still look at games and judge them based upon how "indie" they are or aren't.

Games are just games. If you can, play them before you judge them, and ignore superficial shit like "indie vibes."

I love this. Yeah, there might not be a whole lot of "game" but I appreciate it as an awesome, relaxing experience.
