Is it just me, or is it disappointing to see a quicklook of Diablo III finally in retail, which just shows the exact same seciton of game, that we've been playing in the beta for more then 6 months now?

It is disappointing, but the GB plan was probably to blow through the beta stuff and get to original material. This is like 3 hours into their live stream, most of which was alternating between a login screen of Diablo 3 and Brad playing Diablo 2.

Yea and they cut out the best parts, the Diablo 2 stuff.

blizzard looks really really stuck in 2001.....:/

Here ya go Drew.

Posted by Dagbiker

So first Diablo 3 is broken, so they play Diablo 2, then they play Diablo 3 but only until it breaks again and Brad loses all his stuff, then they log back on and Blizzard kicks them off because Diablo 3 is broken. Ok?

Yup, I watched it all happen live, and I'll agree that this is an accurate synopsis of what transpired.

The server thing looks infuriating. I was excited, but this video was a good warning.

Posted by Root_of_All_Evil

@ 14:18 : I would assume the Chaos god Nurgle from Warhammer would be first example of that, but could be totally wrong.

God Im watching this instead of playing because of the annoying 3003, hurray online single player, ugh.

I like the teleport on fists of thunder :(

The intricate terms of the taco purchasing bet were cut, so I assume anyone watching this who didn't watch the stuff before it has no idea what they're talking about with that.

Although, I'd have to say that the most informative parts of this were seeing just how much progress you lose every time there's a server hiccup. I'm completely sold on NOT buying this game now.

I watched the taco bet... dave lucked out bigtime... and maybe with the server probblems later, he should pitch in a bit more.

I'm pretty sure that all of the server stuff will be cleared up in a day or two. I am confident that Blizzard has a team of people working around the clock to fix these issues. Good thing I am going to get the game at the end of the week

"After suffering through a purgatory of server issues, Brad vault"

How many times does he die?

"...I intend to stay a HWHILE..."

Still bugs me every time.

£45 for a Torchlight clone. Hmm...not sure

Posted by BLKZOMBIE

Fuck, Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2 Beta access all in one day.....WTF!

Posted by cruxking

as annoyed as i am with the current state of this games servers. I'm fairly sure in a week or 2 i'll barely even care about all this jank.

Posted by Sonny009

it was quite the wild day indeed. well worth it.

Posted by WickedCobra03

Should have kept the pre-game working content... even if chat was the part that made it kind of funny. Having the blizzard overload of Starcraft II, Diablo II and Diablo III all running.

I'm loving the game, and Brad is good people but watching how he plays was killing me.

It's too bad to hear that the US servers have issues.

I played on EU servers for 15 hours yesterday and I was never disconnected and the servers never went down for maintenance.

The claim that nobody cares about the Diablo lore is completely absurd, Brad. Can't even believe you would say that.

Brad seems to care about Mortal Kombat lore, so you know...grain of salt and stuff.

Posted by Xidus

You know what would be great... If you encountered Diablo early on. If you caught him banging your mother that would piss you off and give you motivation to fight him at the end.

Posted by Scarabus

I can't believe you cut out the cheers and jubilation from 30 seconds before when you finally got in.

Posted by djvelho

why can i see this in hd quality? it sometimes works and sometimes won´t.....

how this thing work....

Posted by InternetCrab

I hurried home to watch the Live Show and found out that Diablo III wouldn't start, great day though. Awesome that they got it working though!

Posted by VirtuaXav

Is it just me or is the audio only coming out on the left channel? Really irritating trying to listen with headphones. Damn.

I care about Diablo lore more than playing the actual games themselves.

The way Brad plays this game aggravates me. I'm not sure why.

Ditto. He notices nothing, and is then clueless how things work - ie. the salvage interface. It very noticeably spells out "click the anvil to begin salvaging" as does the smith, and still he goes derp until Drew tells him how to.

That's Brad for you. He is so bad at video games. Let's hope someone else plays on the next videos.

I have the whole thing, 3 very cheap DVDs. My wife got it for my birthday about 8 years ago, it is hilarious.

It's weird when someone is raving about something that doesn't seem especially interesting. But anyways, the problem with games like this is the multiplayer just ends up being you along for the ride as everyone has no issues destroying everything at a break neck speed. There doesn't seem to be any dynamic ai work going on, hopefully it gets more interesting in later levels.

Saw this entire thing, still don't see what the hubbub is all about. Long live a loot lust less life I guess.

The anvil, Brad ):

I walked in on the live stream part way through, and asked the chat how long it had been going for so I could judge whether to wait for the archive version.

A guy responded that it had been going for 3 and a half hours already, so I decided to wait for the archive.

Now I see this video is only a hour long. So either in a hours time I'm going to find out the archive is cut off real early, or that guy was a huge dick.

First couple of hours they couldn't get a game running.

Haha I was thinking same thing guys, it's slightly painful, get Vinny on them controls.

Always-on DRM for single-player experiences should not be accepted, and should not be implimented. Why are Blizzard going down the same terrible path as Ubisoft? I'm already boycotting Ubisoft, now Blizzard as well?

@Magickeys: 'sucks at every game' is a bit much. We know if nothing else, he's a very competent starcraft player. Sometimes playing something with people watching and being recorded can be a lot harder, I know I play most games way worse when I am being watched (it's why I don't play fighting games in arcades).

Yeah, he misses some annoying things sometimes but I've missed totally obvious things in games before too. I don't think it makes him unfit for his job.

Posted by AngelN7

Knowing absolutely nothing about Diablo just by looking at it I would say you're playing an MMO with a really empty server , that's some MMO-ass loking game and I'm not talking about the new always online thing.
