Nice! Never had the endurance to finish Doom 2 myself.
Where are you going and what are you doing?Just in time for my 12-hour trip by bus!

I'm going to Seville (Spain) for a congress on what they call "trivial literature". That is, comics, pulp novels, TV series, etc. It's gonna be sweet. I'm talking about propaganda comics during WWII. But, man, 12 hours by bus to go and 12 hours by bus to come back. I've been stockpiling podcasts, TNTs and Quick Looks like crazy these last couple weeks.
I LOVE the level design. It's absolutely spectacular. Way, way better than in Doom 1. I may be the only one.
Although, I have to say- this (citadel) level is my least favourite in the entire game, just because it relies on a secret, or a stupid one time ledge thingy to complete it. That one time ledge thing is soooo dumb.
It always makes me shake my head at how big of a nerd I am for knowing how the BFG in Doom works after reading: http://www.gamers.org/docs/FAQ/bfgfaq/
If I remember correctly: when the ball detonates, a cone shoots out from you from the original direction of the shot taken (regardless of where you are facing and what angle you are to your ball). Anything that could be hit from line of sight in the cone takes damage with distance falloff. Hitting with the ball does good damage, but isn't where the aoe splash happens.
So being in a room with a lot of pillars and circle strafing to the side when you shoot at the back of the room both moves your damage cone to a worse position and causes pillars to give cover.
I would love to see brad stream some strife, I love these old 2.5d shooters.
That level design was.. something. More and more it becomes clear that Doom 2 was a fantastic choice for Breaking Brad; this being probably the best episode yet. Props to Vinny as well just for being a genius at active video editing.
Could it be that this will become the first successful Breaking Brad series? I can't wait to find out.
The funniest bit was when the Hand of God was pointing towards the stairs. The control room is pure genius.
'It's the exit to the level, like the original Doom exit to the level but redone with crazy triangle eyes-'
*Shit goes nuts*
'-also it's not the exit to the level.'
Wow part 2! I am going to check it out right away.
Hahah 12:53, that was so good and awful to watch at the same time.

They need to just put Brad Muir on the payroll by now.
I second this motion.
How the fuck did you guys not vote for Brad Muir for the Golden Duder?I preferred voting for the guy who poured his heart and soul into a website that got almost no success and was eventually fucked over by incompetent Whiskey Media business moves that didn't even consider him worthy of being all that informed on what was even going on.
Very well done and great commentary throughout. Early Dooms and Quakes I always just dabbled in and cheated more often than not. Wolfenstein I just played normally but never finished either to my knowledge. At least I was surpised when I heard talk of Mech Hitler somewhere down the line. With Outlaws I tried very hard and always got stuck in what I believe to be the last level. So that leaves Monotlih's early game Blood as the first oldschool FPS game I actually finished legitimately like this. Great game that one although it has obviously been a long while since I played it. I remember unusually diverse level design and insane weapons. What with the voodoo doll, shamanistic skull thingie and spraycan flamethrower.
one of the things i love about these videos is when vinny (or whoever's on video) starts messing around

But Brad Muir is amusing.
What is going to happen to Rorie? :(
Has he said anything about his next job, does he actually have one? I loved Screened because of him and Alex, and their interaction with the members.
I can't deal with these fancy new camera angles. It looks too professional.
