Awesome! Go Spelunky! I was just looking for something to watch. More Giant Bomb is best Giant Bomb.

weird, just finished watching this on the archive on Justin.tv
Me too, but then I noticed the sound was off sync.
They really souped this up from the PC edition, huh? May have to pick it up, if they don't plan to put this newer version on the PC.

cool
so I take it this is the new "first"? Should be a ban on these too :|
this looks great actually. Might pick it up, If someone dropped a bomb in my shop I too would go LOCO with a shotgun.
Hell yeah, Spelunky! I don't even want to think about how many hours I've spent on the free version! I swear, when people get randomly generated levels right, rare as it is, the result can be truly magical. (See also The Binding of Isaac.)
Love this on the PC. I wonder at which point they learn they can trigger the arrows by throwing something in front of it (rope, bomb, pot, etc.) I kind a miss the old cave music from the original, though.
So its a platformer. And when you die you start over. And they are deconstructing it like its something amazing thats never been done before. Outside of every NES platformer ever.

Summed up what I was about to say. Looks fun but not $10.00 fun.
Is this supposed to be like Spelunker? aka the worst game ever made. I've only gotten like 2 min into the PSN version.

What NES game has Rougelike characteristics combined with a platformer?
Should we tell Brad and Patrick that if you throw a rock, it'll set off the arrow traps without you needing to go through them??

No, silly. It's a roguelike. It's unlike any NES platformer ever.
dont know if i would call this game a rogue-like as it is not reminiscent of rogue besides the fact that when you die you lose your shit and the levels are random. when mario has the fire flower and dies he loses his progression too.
This game is far more interesting then I thought... Didn't know it was a roguelike platformer.
Is it just me or is the video quality better than usual in this video? It seems sharper than most quicklooks. Or I'm just crazy.
Aggro one shopkeeper, aggro them all. The other shops turn into "wanted" posts and the shopkeepers hunt for you for your terrorism.

Let me clarify. This game is nothing special or drastically original, in my eyes. Didn't say it was a bad game...I quite like the free version on Windows. I just didn't get all cream-jeans over it like Brad and Patrick did.
I thought Roguelikes were insane propositions til I played Binding of Isaac. Bring it, Spelunky!!
I wonder if me really liking this game is any sort of indicator that I might like Dark Souls....
Hilarious, dudes! I prefer the graphics and music of the PC version but this looks nice too.
Jeff is the greatest Spelunkyer ever.
It looked fairly uninteresting at first.. but I see the beauty in it now. I am a big fan of methodical, masochistic games.
Hilarious quicklook though, GB has been awesome these last couple weeks.

First roguelike platformer I've ever seen.
Wanted to see Brad do more of the random evil suggestions in the adventure, rather curious now on what would happen.
Jeff is the greatest
Also, I love how Patrick was bragging in the beginning but got his ass kicked in deathmatch
I bow before this game. Here's the website for the PC version: http://spelunkyworld.com/original.html
