Sweet!
Can you play this game with a 360 controller? I just hope the load times are better.
Maybe I'll finally get to play the game every one of my friends defended to the death in High School. Hopefully it's not a shit port and supports controllers.
Aside from cloud saves, achievements, and HD support, I'm not honestly sure what they're really doing with this. It's FFVII, and people have been waiting a long time. It would be nice if they would go all out with it.
haha
I have the original release CD for this on PC already.
It's really buggy though- I am going to assume they wont really fix any of those issues though, just make it modern PC compatible. If they do fix them, though, that would be real nice of them.
Still, that's kind of cool.
Hold up, I played this on PC years ago, it's been around forever. What am I missing? Based on this trailer it's the exact same game.
Probably pick this up since I haven't touched the PSN version since I bought it a few years back

Well the original PC version is extremely dated and finicky with what it will run on, so this re-release makes sense. But yeah it's still FFVII, so the same overrated as hell snorefest.

You couldn't be more wronger. Mr. wrongenstein.
I still have the original PC version hiding somewhere in my closet. but guess i'll buy this again if it's like $10 - $15.
Uh...ok. You're kinda moving in the right direction Square but you're not quite there.
This trailer really confuses me. It's very 90's and it seems like they are trying to pretend it didn't already come out on the pc in 1998. Almost feels like they just put out the same trailer from 14 years ago.
Haters who haven't even played the game just look really sad, you guys. Just so you know. Play the damn game then bash the hell out of it all you want.

**** off, voiceover guy.
If there's no added voice over or graphical tweaks what's the point of this other than, because money?
Reminded me of this Kotaku article from May.
http://kotaku.com/5910671/right-now-final-fantasy-vii-remake-isnt-the-most-important-thing
"Not for Square Enix. Final Fantasy VII character designer and current Square Enix bigwig Tetsuya Nomura spoke with Japanese game magazine Famitsu about the much desired FFVII.
In the interview, Nomura stated that the Final Fantasy must surmount the old FF games.
Nomura acknowledged that there was considerable fan interest in a Final Fantasy VII remake.
"New Final Fantasy games take precedence over a FFVII remake," said Nomura.
The goal, Nomura added, was to make games that rivaled or possibly surpassed Final Fantasy VII."
Article also links to a fan-mod for PC that probably looks just as good as this re-release. I exclusively played the PC version when it came out, it ran great.
There's something odd about this. Not the idea of releasing an FF7 remake, but just the way this whole thing looks. I don't even know how to put it or what to point to, but something definitely felt off. I'd say that it's the HD parts seeping through, that doesn't feel right, either, given that it pretty much looks the same.
Ah, the good old days before we had those pesky things like a consistent art-direction.
All over this. Doesn't need any changes or any bullshit, you don't fuck with the classics, you just don't. Been keen to replay this for years but haven't been willing to play my PS1 copy since it's PAL (and thus just a little bit too fast, read up on the 4% PAL speed-up.)
The only thing I'd like them to add is a free lossless download of the soundtrack. Otherwise, I hope it remains as untouched as possible.

Don't you mean Cloud saves?
If they did this for all the FF games missing on the PC for some reason or another that's fine, if it's just for one title then I really can't get interested too much.
Sweet. I get to experience the most dreadfully elongated battle sequences ever in HD, now.
I had to throw out my copy of FFVII for the PC so I'd stop trying to install it on machines that would not agree to play it. So I would actually buy this.
Didn't really like it when I played it way back and I don't think time made it any better.
Having blocks for hands is still going to make 75% of this game look like hot fucking garbage.
"Attack when the tail's up! Its gonna counterattack with it's laser!!"
Hope they don't clear up the translation, so a whole new generation of gamers can get dicked over by Barrett.
It wouldn't take that much alteration to the original polygons for them to release this as Lego Final Fantasy VII.
I don't know what's more insane: the fact that they show no gameplay after 15 years still...
...or the fact that you need a 2GHz processor or higher with 1GB of RAM and a DX9 or higher card to play it on your fucking computer!!!
Sooo they've stated that there will be achievements, have they clarified as to whether or not its GFWL achievements or Steam achievements or is Square going to seriously imagineer up some stupid achievement system for their website that works with one game?
That is a damn cheesy narrator. This is Final Fantasy 7. We don't exactly need a voiceover to shout vague movie-trailer quotes at us.
And I can't help but laugh at it all being CG bits either. I really hope this was intentionally paying homage to the original advertising.

"Cloud saves" ? Really?
Never got the mass appeal to this game, I think ti's far overrated. FF6 had way better character development.
