Marking out for Welsh accents!

Posted by Rowr

lets "uncrate the robot" so i can "peg it"

;)

Posted by Eaxis

The two levers Vinny missed in the gnomehole would have lead them to the items they needed.

To "peg it" doesn't mean to run away, not sure what that guy was on about. It means to die.

This game is really charming. I might have to check it out.

Someone who's played the game: what the hell were they suppose to do?

What's the point of an adventure game QL if you just skip all the dialogue? I hope you skip all the shooting parts when you QL Call of Duty 9.

At first I was like, har har, Call of Duty 9! I get the joke, because it's such an annualized franchise, right?

...and then I did the math.

Adventure time with Vinny is always the best time.

This seems alright!

So am I missing something or were there 4 wrenches in front of the levers in the Gnome Hole at first, then Vinnie used two of them, leaving two wrenches (meaning two levers that could still be used) and he just kinda kept ignoring them...

Posted by radioactivez0r

Seems like that lever box had about 4-6 levers and they disappeared as you clicked them, leaving the last 2. Now I have to buy this game to see what they do.

@calumlittle: Oh my, aren't you a negative little troll.

PUT THE RING IN THE FIREPLACE! haven't you watched lord of the rings? :D

Posted by Skyfire543

Reminds me a lot of The Longest Journey. Only good things can come of this.

Posted by Xeteh

I kept wanting to see Vinny try the chair to catch the flying fish...

Wilbur Weathervane has a great Welsh accent. Interested to play this.

P.S. Lots of Welsh accents.

Most anticipated game of the summer!

Posted by SpunkyHePanda

It's crazy that with all the Steam deals, $18 just seems like a ridiculous amount of money, even though it's more than a fair price for this game. Oh well, bought it anyway.

I can't tolerate getting stuck in games. I've got too much to do.

MgGuffin sounds like Doc from back to the future games.

legitimately charmed by the world...will buy

Posted by dr_mantas

This seems kinda interesting, the visuals and animation are pleasant.

Too bad I can't stand an adventure game for more than 20 minutes anymore. For some reason.

Edited by MrBubbles

i liked vinny's reference to jedi knight 2: jedi outcast with wookie feet. this quick look made me buy it.

As a Scottish person, I wonder if I should be bothered that Dwarves are always Scottish.

Posted by TehPickle

Always nice to see a Welsh dialect in a video game.

Posted by ItBeStefYo

@Binman88: It's funny how low-key Wales is

Posted by hussatron

This is the type of game that would make for an entertaining Endurance Run.

Posted by kollay

There was some legitimately funny bits in this game... huh, will have to check it out.

Posted by jbuchan76

Dragon Porn! oh hell yeah!

Posted by Residentrevil2

I wanna see Vinny and Jeff play this entire game...

I'm a bit conflicted on this one. Being a conversion of a German game I was wary of the voice acting since it often suffers, as someone mentioned. The voicing on the Steam trailer seemed awful, but the performances in the sections here sound great. If it was, say, €10 on Steam I'd probably take a punt on it right now, but at €18 I think I'll work through my backlog of other purchases first then see what the price is when I next remember this game.

Well no offence but thats the standard comment when anyone thinks a adventuregame is simply to hard for their taste so that statement carries no weight.

Being a standard comment doesn't make it invalid. If I have to randomly combine objects to solve something and there still is no discernible logic to that solution I consider it a bad puzzle. It is still a good game but to me it doesn't compare to harder classics.

Yeh ofc it doesnt have ot be invalid and im not saying it is, just that theres no way of knowing either way. Every discussion ever made on the internet about an adventure game contains a bunch of those comments and the word logic is very often watered out with nonsense.

This game's visuals are freaking fantastic... cgi movie quality right there. Damn

ADVENTURE!

Edited by Baal_Sagoth

Hah, I wondered if this would turn up on GB when I noticed the (years late) Steam release. I bought this way back when it had its initial German release. It is one of the few select Point & Click adventure games I actually really liked personally. Well, and Botanicula joined that list recently if that even counts strictly speaking.

The references are very on the nose but also very well done in my opinion. And they keep coming relentlessly. Also, yeah, the icons for the other two levers are just slightly off so you missed that. I generally recommend you exhaust every point of interest in the game until dialog repeats. When that happens (usually two sequences in at most) it means you need to apply an item before the point disappears. With that systematic approach I don't recall getting stuck ever.

Great to see the very amusing German voicework survived the transition to the international market fine for once. This one can definitely be a charmer for the right player.

This looks interesting, but I think I'll wait a week for Deponia to forfill my adventureing needs.

ADVENTURE!

Posted by buft

Alot of the things in this game story wise remind me of Warcraft.

Posted by Binman88

That little guy has a Welsh accent. It seemed like Jeff was doing a bit of an exaggerated Irish country accent when he imitated him. Not saying I think non-Europeans should be able to differentiate, just clarifying.

Posted by rcath

They were supposed to open those doors in the house using the levers.

This game when it originally came out,I heard from well respected people, was considered one of the greatest adventure games ever made. It does indeed look pretty awesome.

Its a good game, not great. Too many puzzles that have bad logic behind them.

But if they are recorded in a book, doesn't that mean that the unwritten tales are, in fact, written?
