These DOA5 things are tough to watch at work
Still bitter from the 4th DOA game with the game breaking boss fight & since then really just turned off on the whole DOA franchise thanks to the last few lackluster games.
Instead of worrying about game mechanics, why don't they find a better god damn director for this stuff.
Anyway, DOA is probably one of the only fighter games I'll actually play for an extended amount of time, so I'm looking forward to this!
The name Dead or Alive is very missleading, people very rarly die in this game. I think two people have actually died, That ninja girl, and that french girls father.

Genra, Raidou, Helena's mother, her father Fame Douglas, have all died.
No matter the insane story and crazy characters, I really like the fighting systems in the DOA games and how fast paced they are.
I'm kinda torn on this. On the one hand this looks totally dumb, on the other, it looks totally dumb!
Back in the day I did main Bayman and I was pissed off that he was nowhere to see. Same for Leon.
I like fighting games that actually put their engine to use in cutscenes (I'm looking at you Super Street Fighter IV and your cheap 20s clips for intros in arcade mode)
I sure hope this means a new beach volleyball game soon! Gotta unlock all those swimsuits.
I met a Shun player on VF5FS named Fame_Douglas who destroyed me on launch day. Haven't seen him online since, but I'm assuming he's getting this game. I am getting DOA5 just for a tiny shot at revenge.
watohhit dota 5 fucking valve carnraking csequels out every year wtf
Looks like I am over DOA. I don't know when it happened but that trailer did nothing for my loinal regions.
This is no "Bikini trailer", like the last one, but it is probably not impossible to masturbate to :)
One of these days, Team Ninja has to make a time management game about whatever the fuck it is that DOATEC actually does besides throw fighting tournaments every few years. Besides cloning ninja chicks and cutting everything to Aerosmith music, that is. Btw, where the fuck is the Aerosmith music? I know that was Itagaki's thing, but it sort of became DOA's thing, so they should keep doing it

Did the first digit in your age change from 1 to 2?
Lol, I'm fairly sure the Engrish rapping is the same guy who did all the stuff for Persona 3.
"What does the West like? Hip-hop? Violence? K.O.s? A "French" accent?"
"Do it. All of it. I want to see all of those things in this."
wow, this looks exactly as weird/dumb as it always has, good on them for keeping it real even after losing Itagaki.
I was very skeptical about DOA5 for a long time but after watching this trailer, I'm all stoked again. The story-driven trailer, the old skool hip hop music, the action scenes and less emphasize on the "jiggling" (pity but it's for the best) - DOA5 seems promising now.
This isn't the opening cinematic...It was just a trailer.

What exactly was game breaking about it? Everything Alpha did was predictable and easily stopped. Maybe if you'd learn how to play you wouldn't have any problems.

The name is based on the history of the company. When DoA1 came out Tecmo was in financial trouble and DoA was one of their last big projects to pull them out of the fire, thus the name dead or alive. It was a literally phrase in regards of their company at the time. The same can be said about square-enix back when they were squaresoft. Final Fantasy was literal. It was the "final" fantasy for squaresoft. Fortunately the game did very well and saved the company.
