Hot damn, 343 is certainly impressing me with what they squeezed out of that old 360 box.

I haven't been this excited for a game in a very very long time. RDR was probably the last game i was this hyped for.

Man. I have never been this excited for a Halo game.

I don't like the inner skull design, nor the lack of limb attachment. Hopefully, they will focus on providing a better story than Bungie ended up including in the games.

@solidlife: you should watch some of the multiplayer vids. Its pretty halo still. Changed just about the right amount to me based on their prerelease marketing.

Looks pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see which new species they end up introducing throughout this series of games to be the next antagonists since the Forerunners were the only previous species that were mentioned at all that weren't part of the Covenant or the Flood.

@dfsix999: The Mass Effect series sold well and got good review scores too so I guess they must be bottom of the barrel trash too. If you really want a deep and meaningful experience with a video what you've really got to do it play X-Blades. Sure, it sold like shit and got terrible reviews and was absolute trash of a game, but it's that really unique outsider perspective that gave it that really gave it a deeper meaning than you see with AAA title games with years of development, major studios, and a ridiculous amount of money behind them.

Stop being so fucking reactionary. You're not allowed to criticize one thing as being trash for the singular reason of being mainstream when the thing you like just as much is just as mainstream.

@CptBedlam: Their co-op mode is called Spartan Ops, needless to say 343 might not be the most creative when it comes to naming.

Not that it matters, the new enemies look like they'll be fun to go up against and Spartan Ops looks way better than multiplayer(which they're calling War Games btw).

The only worry I have about the Prometheans is the AI, Bungie enemy AI was great.

I think it's safe to say that 343 gives the impression that they know what they are doing. I'm hoping to see Halo 4 as one of my top games in 2012!

Dude, I know were the name originates from but this is a "the latest thing" issue. Why would you pile on with that after other games (and movies) already exhausted the concept lately? Come up with something better, turn to other mythologies. It's not that hard to find interesting inspirations but they went the laziest route (Protoss, Protheans, Prometheans...).

Why would you come up with yet another ancient alien race that looks like glowing robotic insects and even name it similarly? All this shit starts to look and sound the same.

Hey, let's hope this isn't a spoiler but I bet it turns out the Prometheans are not monsters but really wise and honorable guys.

This game is looking rad. Prometheans seems a little lazy but whatever. This game's been in development for a while I'm sure they had the name in mind before the movie ever came out.

For your information Promethean is a reference to Prometheus from Greek mythology. Furthermore, the concept of "Prometheans" in Halo was was created by Bungie in early 2007 (predating Mass Effect's release). Finally, the reason why the game resembles the Metroid Prime trilogy is because two senior designers from that trilogy are working on Halo 4. Get your facts right Jackass.
