The latest edition of the Spotlight is up here!
New blog entry a day in advance, covering Resident Evil 4 as well as the Extra Life charity tomorrow (and my plans for it).
That ARMA mission was the best one we did probably.
Awww shit, we famous :D
And so I begin what some might call an ill-advised journey.
a review that used a "steak review system,"
Persona 4, right?
(Also, I should totally adopt that for my blog.)
Question: how does a review make it into the "useful user review" section? Does it have to be one of a recent game?
Let me tell you...when user reviews use to be on the front page erinfizz and me sometimes took flack for some of the "retro" reviews we put up on the front page. There was the positive Dynasty Warriors review, a review that used a "steak review system," and probably the most controversial review we put on the front page was that positive review for Trespasser: Jurassic Park.
Lotta love for XCOM this week.
Great list, that picture is classic.
Wow, I did not expect to see my review of Dust: An Elysian tail featured here. That's my first time giving an honest, "professional" shot at reviewing a game, and if anyone has any criticisms or anything, please feel free to let them fly. I enjoy writing from time to time, and anything to help me get better at it will go a long way, especially from a community that I respect.
Edit: Just realized I totally pmed you by replying, after you just told me not to. My bad dude.
Plus it was on his blog, so you double replied him. Bad blogging etiquette, old chap.
@ZombiePie: Okay cool. Here's a couple lists I made that people might enjoy. Link.Link.
I imagine the former, as he does ask from it every...whatever day it is before the Spotlight is usually posted. Thursday?
@ZombiePie: Does having users send you links to stuff they did help you out or is it just annoying?
I love it when users link me to their stuff. I prefer you link me to stuff in the comments section of the most recent Spotlight as opposed to via PM as being a moderator means I get a lot of PMs.
I made you a suitably daft list for next week, since you seem to be running out. Actually, I'll probably make a few more to give you a backlog. Hope the emergency thing you had yesterday turned out OK.
And yeah, you really do go all out with the number of articles featured. Have the Spotlights gotten a lot bigger since when you started doing them?
Always the highlight of the week! I like seeing what stuff gets picked out.
How much time does it take to go through all of this content to decide what will get featured? Seem over whelming. Do you look at a ton of different, blogs, lists, etc?
Oh boy...it must take about an hour to an hour and a half to make a single Spotlight. That number is discounting the times when I accidentally delete my blog or am completely drained physically.
