@kmg90: I'm not sure why your thread got locked. It seems pretty sound to me.
I also don't think anybody has belittled you yet. Except the first dude on your thread that asked if you were serious, he might have been...a little. I think the big problem is that most people aren't going to fiddle around with their network settings just to get this problem fixed. Most of the people who have this problem also took 4 or 5 hours to set up their Wi-Fi router.
The crux of the situation is P.R. Microsoft's stuff downloads fast for most people, while PS3's downloads slow for most people. For people with two systems, it is easy for us to understand because both the systems use the same internet, but one is faster than the other when we download demos or games.
I would send your research to Sony and show them what is going on. I'm sure it is easier for them to fix than asking people who don't even know what a DNS server is to set one up.
