Well they solve like 10 puzzles in this QL, so yeah, spoilers.

at that first hard puzzle 1-1 could they have moved the blue block to the left so the yellow would land on the ground and then push it next to the green one which is now sitting on the blue and jump on the orange to the green to the yellow? This game is cool but I don't have a 3DS, I wish it was on the phone or something.

I implore everyone with a 3DS to grab this game. It's less than $10, and worth probably $15.
Crashmooooooooooo!
I'm still stuck in Pushmo so...I'm gonna wait on picking this one up.
It should be noted that the Giant Bomb puzzle is nothing like the late game puzzles. They tend to still have around 4 to 6 pieces unlike Pushmo which went up like crazy. Unlike Pushmo however there is always some thinking involved in figuring out the path and very little slowly progressing up a giant shape. That I think will be a weakness of Crashmo, that all the puzzles people make will have none of the sensibilities of the core game and will probably be less puzzles and more big climbs.
That looks like a fun one! If I get a 3DS (maybe Christmas, I don't know...), this may be a download worth trying! I really like puzzle games like this one!
Since I'm gonna pick myself up a 3DS for Christmas, may as well buy Pushmo as well. This one seems too hard for my simple, monkey brain.
It still confuses me how much Jeff likes this considering how much he didn't like Catherine, when they are essentially the same thing, except Catherine is better.
is that QR code available on a message board? Almost impossible to read it off the video.
@LiquidPrince: I think Jeff was pretty clear on his feelings regarding Catherine in the Bombcast.

@Tireyo643: nice work man. that's a cool looking puzzle:)
Thanks! If you happen to pick up Crashmo, try and attempt it yourself!
Damn it, I keep feeling like I saw the solution to the puzzle he skipped but he never did it.
Also, this game looks pretty good. I want a 3DS now.
Well now I have something to get with all the eshop money i will surely be getting for Christmas. Keep pushing Mallo.
With all of the AAA disappointments this year, this game reminds me that video games can be outstanding.
Dammit, I'm afraid to read the comments for fear of spoilers.
This game intimidates me more than any crazy action game. But if Ninja Dog Brad can solves some puzzles, I probably could, too.

Are you saying they're the same simply because you push blocks in both games? It's kinda like saying volleyball and soccer are basically the same thing because you smack around a ball. Or that SSBB is the same as PS All Stars because they're both cross-franchise brawlers.
The puzzles in Catherine and Pushmo operate on completely different rules of, well, block-pushing. And Catherine's "puzzles" were faster paced, you could die during them and they could be infinitely more frustrating due to that fact. Then there is the separate story portion that Jeff didn't care for. Pushmo is a puzzle game in the same vein as Sudoku in that you have all the time in world to just sit there and contemplate it.
So yea. Not the same thing at all and its perfectly reasonable to have differing opinions on them -_-
In europe these games have different, crapper names. Pullblox and now Fallblox :S
They all have testicle mouths! I know of one GB moderator who's found himself a new favorite game...

I think the the imposing time limit you had on certain puzzles was one of the most annoying things about Catherine. Seriously, in a puzzle game, aren't you supposed to take your time and think out the solution? Having the time limit on boss battles just made you brute force your way through everything. Way too much trial and error for a puzzle game.

To counter the "take your time" I offer you Tetris and Meteos and Lumines.
Also the puzzles in Pushmo were all called Pushmo.
I think real world physics bias (gravity) is causing Brad problems for 1-1. If you grant that the goal square will be at the highest altitude of all squares in the puzzle, it follows that yellow must act as a step up towards that. Orange and blue cannot make the jump up to yellow's top squares, therefore only the lower parts of green brought down to the appropriate level could accomplish that goal...

Unless I'm misremembering, the only puzzles in Catherine that had a really tight time limit were the boss battles. Otherwise you could dilly dally all you wanted to.

Even though I don't have a WiiU, this should go to that platform as any ds game now has no excuse for just staying on it without doing an eshop or a full disc version going to the WiiU. Seems like a great game & should be there to help give people more good original games going to the new console.
Some games are just better portable. Some games need the two screens closer together.
I think I solved that puzzle just by looking at it and they were really close when they dropped that yellow one into the the red one
does this have less puzzles than the first game? i remember there being like 16 dudes you saved and three rows with 5 puzzles in each tier
Brad shows off that he can look behind puzzle, then doesn't use feature to solve same puzzle...
@LiquidPrince: Yeah I've been thinking the same thing. I think it's a great example of how expectations matter more than the actual gameplay when it comes to forming opinions on the game. I get the impression Jeff expected/wanted something different from Catherine and so was thus disappointed, but Pushmo is just a random downloadable game so there's no time to build anything of that up. The other half of the issue is Catherine was a story focused game, and I could see how it might be frustrating to be stuck on a puzzle when you really want to see how the story goes.
Stopped watching after 6 minutes. If I know Brad, it'll get frustrating to watch him try to solve some puzzles. And I do not feel like yelling obvious solutions at my monitor tonight! But, from what I watched, you done good, Mr. Shoemaker! It's not like I needed to see a lot to decide to pick this thing up anyway ;)
