Waking up to this is cool. Finally got this dumb achievement on my birthday. Neat.

Uh oh, I don't have time to watch this right now, but that tag line does not bode well. I was pretty interested in this one.
---Edit---
Alright so, tagline be damned, I think this looks pretty good. Tweaks a nerve that hasn't really perked up since Freespace 2, and I've pretty much checked out every space shooter to come out since then. Also Homeworld is my favorite game of all time and the music (composed by the same guy), at least prior to anime lady singing, is pandering to my nostalgia for that game sumthin' fierce.
I see Ace Combat in space with boring combat and even more boring ship design. :\
Cockpit view better come soon so that I can begin thinking about if this is worth thinking about further.
Remember when space simulation games were awesome?
We really need a Freespace 3 or something.
@Huey2k2: Enough Freespace 2 mods out there to keep one busy and the SCP is doing some good work in updating the engine.
This was pretty boring to say the least. Not even Jeff and Ryan could save this one. :|
Around 24 mins, Jeff finally can become a robot. Man hearing that the transformation requires the buildup of a meter and then also has a time limit and janky animation, has completely unsold me on this. Why the fuck make a game staring a transforming robot and then not allowing me to transform at will? defeats the entire purpose of having the game mechanic.
I won't lie I've been looking for a Colony Wars looking game for years now. I thought Sol Exodus would fill that gap but it didn't . The optimist in my want it to be a great game but the realist in my says wait for the reviews before you hand over the money.
Jeff is right that the mission they played could have done a better job of making the Strike Suit feel like a badass in it's first appearance. That said, it does show off it's strength in later missions.
Also, once you unlock the Strike Suit, you can do goofy things like go back to mission 1 and 2 and replay them while inside it.
Why the fuck isn't there a concept page for Swarm Missiles/Cluster Missiles/Drunken Missiles, whatever you want to call them?
Sure is a nice looking game, what I saw didn't look real thrilling but it looks interesting
Also the music in the beginning is reminiscent of Battlestar, which is very nice
Reminds me of Project Sylpheed for the 360. Almost to the point of wondering if any of the programers had worked on that game too, or if they are using the same engine or something...
"if I am thrusting around all over the place, I may not have enough energy to stop missiles from hitting me"- Jeff Gerstmann
man, the developer must have really loved Gundam Seed.
A.I voice lady and the music when you get the suit reminded me of Zone of the Enders. My love of Colony Wars will probably make me buy this.
Seems pretty neat even if the robot stuff is lame. Reminds me of Macross games for PS2. I would rather play those though.
I supported this on Kickstarter, had potential. Looks kind of tame, but whatever. I don't regret supporting it.

Fuck that, we just need Star Citizen (Squadron 42)
Edit: I would take a Freespace 3 also, but come on if Star Citizen turns out like envisioned, mother of god.

It looks like you played this game more, do you think it's worth it? I am still interested in this, haven't played this style of game in a while and I like the look of it, but I hope they vary the scenario's from what we've seen here. Is there variation here?

Hells yes. I'm already shopping around for a HOTAS setup for it. Also seriously considering oculus rift once it becomes available. Can't WAIT!
Ryan kinda misses a lot of things people say. Jeff tells him he has two types of guns, and the machine guns are good for depleting shields, the other guns for taking the ships out after that. like 45 seconds later Ryan says "so, whats with these two gun types you are switching between?"
I've been noticing him doing this with more and more things lately.
Graphically this game reminds me of Colony Wars with the new Star Trek's camera and lighting effects. I might pick this up.
Nothing about this is a sim, did Jeff just not have a better word for this game?
This seems kind of alright. It certainly looks pretty. Being in robot mode reminds me a lot of Omega Boost.
...more like Mobile Suit Gundam if you ask me, looks alright! At the last part you should basicly destroy just the torpedos right? I thought that was pretty obvious...
