Poll: Should I replay Costume Quest for Halloween this year? (26 votes)

Yes 69%
No 31%

I'm thinking about it, since it seems like one of the better ways to vicariously trick or treat, and the whole game is so adorable. I kinda wish the game were a tad shorter.

YES! It's a good laid back experience with really good writing, music is great too.

EDIT: sounds like you have already played it. I replay it every year around this time and I have yet to get sick of it.

Yes! I'm going to play it with my girlfriend this year. :-)

Definitely play it again. Like the others have said, playing Costume Question has become my annual Halloween tradition.

Never a bad reason to replay Costume Quest. I'm pretty sure it was designed by puppies and kitties.

some questions are best left inside your head. some decisions are best left up to you. who are we to tell you if you should or shouldn't do something? threads like these are so weird...

...play it

I probably would if you could skip the battle animations; don't get me wrong, they were great, but seeing them over and over 100+ times in that game make me not ever want to replay it.

You should play Costume Quest EVERY Halloween!

If you own it and like it go play it. I think i'll go as the Emancipation Proclamation for Halloween. Get my horse Mary Todd.

I should probably play through it. I bought it on sale during a steam sale a couple years ago, but have yet to load it up...About how long is it? 3-4 hours?

I loved it when I played it for halloween last year, but I dont think it's a game worth replaying. Thats just my opinion though

Sure. It's cute, simple, short. You sound like you really enjoy it, and it's finish-able in a handful of hours. There are definitely worse Halloween/horror games you could play through on the 31st.

Also, those fake treats are great.

You could probably blast through it in 3-4 hours, though if you explore around for all the sidequests to get all the costumes/skills, it'll end up a little higher than that. Also the PC version includes the DLC for free, so you can also play Grubbins on Ice which is winter-themed if I remember correctly. It's maybe about a quarter as long as the original game, so let's say that DLC is something like 60-120 minutes?

I guess I'm the only person who vehemently disliked Costume Quest and would never think about touching it again? For a game that is only 4 hours long, I was wishing death upon myself after the first 60 minutes.

I felt that a lot when I got 'stuck' because I didn't go trick or treating at all the houses or I missed some small thing but I suppose I feel that way often with those kind of adventure games :/

No. It's bad.

Personally, I could only get through part of the mall before I got bored. But, my fiance played through it twice and the extra campaign in a week. So... if you like it, go for it!
