Cooking with Dan: Pizza Roll Omelet

(Kinda want to try this out now.)

One can only hope this is the first in a long series of videos. I really want to see what sort of cuisine the mind of Dan Ryckert can come up with.

Dan may be crazy. Dan may leave you scratching your head in bewilderment. But he's ours and he love him god damnit. (Also I would call this a victory because nothing caught on fire...like his pants).

Dan should totally post videos like this on the site. This is great.

As an amateur cook, I would suggest putting a lid over the pan, which would hopefully cook the egg yolk and melt the cheese? You know, concentrating the heat and so on.

But... the bigger question is... WHY ISN'T THIS ON THE SITE?!

This man just continues to baffle and amaze me.

That was my favorite part of the whole video, Dan continually saying that he is trying to be healthy while making/eating a pizza roll omelette.

I'm still not fully convinced that Dan Ryckert isn't the supporting character in a sitcom who has accidentally manifested himself in the real world.

OK, looking at the video a second time (I know), I would suggest mixing the cheese and spring onion in with the egg: the cheese would get enough time to melt into the chewy goo we all love and the spring onion would get a bit more time to cook.

And again, use a lid when cooking omelets!

With the way he presents his dietary habits it is stunning that this dude is not like 20 stone or something. DDP Yoga must be an insanely effective workout.

He probably just has an insane metabolism.

Dan likes his eggs waaaaaaay more cooked than I do, 5 minutes? I like the middle being partly goopy.

Also, I assume it was his dad doing the filming? Whoever laughed during 3:27 and 3:31 has the exact same laugh as Dan!

The big wonder here though is how the fuck he manages to keep that chipper attitude when eating complete garbage all the time. When I ate like that I was the most miserable person in the world.

I just watched it. on you-tube. Personally I would not do pizza rolls even by themselves. But I did learn something very edifying by that excellent slide and fold of the omelet. Thanks Dan! Good finish.

I will on a blue moon allow myself an omelet maybe one to two times a year, cause I go whole hog with bacon, sausage, avocado, mushroom and cheese. Also hash browns. I get too full from it all and feel I have gained five pounds, so pretty much given it up.
