Because why not?
(Kinda want to try this out now.)
One can only hope this is the first in a long series of videos. I really want to see what sort of cuisine the mind of Dan Ryckert can come up with.
Dan may be crazy. Dan may leave you scratching your head in bewilderment. But he's ours and he love him god damnit. (Also I would call this a victory because nothing caught on fire...like his pants).
"You don't want any gratuitous calories when you're eating the pizza roll omelette."
Damn it, Dan. Just... damn it.
Well that looks like a very "I'm drunk, I'm gonna make this dumb shit" idea.
I'll try it next time I buy Pizza Rolls.
Man, this is precisely what I needed after a day of reading the "letter to the editor" discussion thread. Thank you Dan, for your inspired.... dumbness. It's the best, even if you are a heel.
@viciousbearmauling: He was stone sober, and had just finished a run.
... were the pizza rolls still cold?
also its been several years since I've had pizza rolls and now I really want some pizza rolls
@onemanarmyy: "Dan Ryckert's Home Gourmet Cookbook for Non Fancy Guys"
"You don't want any gratuitous calories when you're eating the pizza roll omelette."
Damn it, Dan. Just... damn it.
That was my favorite part of the whole video, Dan continually saying that he is trying to be healthy while making/eating a pizza roll omelette.
I'm still not fully convinced that Dan Ryckert isn't the supporting character in a sitcom who has accidentally manifested himself in the real world.
With the way he presents his dietary habits it is stunning that this dude is not like 20 stone or something. DDP Yoga must be an insanely effective workout.
He probably just has an insane metabolism.
The Pizza Roll Omelet: "You can definitely taste the pizza roll in there." - Dan Ryckert, 2014
I would totally welcome "Cooking with Dan" as a regular feature on GiantBomb.
"You can definitely taste the pizza roll in there."
EDIT: God damn it, @whitegreyblack!
"You don't want any gratuitous calories when you're eating the pizza roll omelette."
Damn it, Dan. Just... damn it.
That was my favorite part of the whole video, Dan continually saying that he is trying to be healthy while making/eating a pizza roll omelette.
I mean he was obviously joking, especially the last time he said it, but it was funny.
Dan likes his eggs waaaaaaay more cooked than I do, 5 minutes? I like the middle being partly goopy.
I think my Most Valued Detail in here was Jason's little chuckle revealing that our dear Mr. Ostreicher was somehow even producing THIS GB content!
Anybody else want to see more of Jason and Dan's friendship on camera?
This has to become a regular site feature. Cooking with Dan it's the best cooking show i've ever seen :D
I can't wait till i can buy the Dan Ryckert Book of Non-Fancy Cuisine.
I would honestly buy it in a heartbeat
I assume he realized this, but reheating the pizza rolls first might have been smart.
Screw it why not do this. This is basically an old college mentality of combining any food you have left.
...I would totally eat that. Looks super weird.
But then, I once put a whole ham sandwich inside a PB&J sandwich and ate ice cream with tortillas so who am I to judge?
Just showed a friend who doesn't follow the site this video. His words were:
He's just so charming. He reminds me of a puppy.
Take that how you will.
I just watched it. on you-tube. Personally I would not do pizza rolls even by themselves. But I did learn something very edifying by that excellent slide and fold of the omelet. Thanks Dan! Good finish.
I will on a blue moon allow myself an omelet maybe one to two times a year, cause I go whole hog with bacon, sausage, avocado, mushroom and cheese. Also hash browns. I get too full from it all and feel I have gained five pounds, so pretty much given it up.
