Please Rename These Pages

#1 Edited by Mercanis (649 posts) - 3 years, 11 months ago

I'm working on the Prototype game page, and people have made complementary pages that are misnamed.

  1. The Specialist Cross page should be renamed to "Captain Cross". [see edit!]
  2. The Project BLACKWATCH page should be renamed to simply "Blackwatch".
I'm pretty sure someone confused "Project Blacklight" with the "Blackwatch" and combined the two. If someone could take care of these two issues, that would be great.

EDIT: "Specialist Cross" should just be "Robert Cross"; titles can be added in the article...

@Mercanis: I'm pretty inexperienced with GB's (fuckin' awesome) wiki system, so I'm not sure if there is a function dedicated to concealing spoilers.

I bring this up in your message here because you link to Cross' page, where you spell out his [SPOILERS]  origin as Green's child & true identity as Pariah  [/SPOILERS] - a fact that I would much rather learn on my own through the course of the (frankly, poorly told) story. Not until I started a new game and found a few WOI targets did I piece together that whole end sequence before fighting him.

Thanks for reading and not brushing me off as a newb who didn't watch the tutorial videos (I did! It was just a long time ago....)

Cheers!

It's been stated that since this is a wiki that if you read a wiki page and get spoiled then you brought it upon yourself. The pages are supposed to have as much information as possible about the subject, spoilers or not.

@PureRok: It has been stated by a wiki mod before that spoilers should not be in blurbs (link). The article is fair game, but not the blurb. One reason given is that blurbs are visible outside the pages (when you click on the Search button, for example; it would totally suck to be spoiled on one thing when just searching for something). I think blurbs should be as spoiler-free as possible (I don't mind spoilers that much, but others do). I was reminded of that while talking in a thread about Persona 4...

The general unwritten rule regarding spoilers is that they should be in a clearly named "Story" or "Plot" section. There is really no need for spoiler tags, because if you read a Story section, you expect it to contain spoilerific plot details.

@Mercanis: Did the character, unfortunately we still can't rename concepts. No ETA on when this is going to change.

@SketchyBrown: While I did link to Cross's page, I'm not the one who wrote the spoilers. Sorry about that.

@MB: Can we just delete the current page and create a new one?

@Mercanis: Don't have delete tools either, believe it or not. Send your suggestions on this to gb_community@giantbomb.com, or pm snide.

We should all bombard snide, coonce and andy's PM inbox with "GIVE THE MODS THE ABILITY TO DELETE PAGES!!!!!!!" PM's. Eventually they'll get annoyed and either give you guys deletion privileges, or ban everyone who PMed them. I'm hoping it's the former.

Well, it looks like someone renamed the concept page. Thank you mysterious benefactor! You should post on these threads when you've satisfied the request...
