Okay, we are allowed to delete them. If an image is too close apart and bears pretty much all the same features as the other screenshot, it can be deleted as a duplicate.

Also regarding people trying to crop out watermarks, it is NOT a viable tactic to have a passable screenshot. It is not condoned by mods and should not be done! Keep up the good work everyone!!!!"

I have deleted those 3 at the top, but I left alone the 2 at the bottom. I have done this because the lighting is different in both pictures, thus causing a different picture between each one. I have also seen very close together shots, but I will take care of them later. Thanks.

Well actually you can't delete an image unless its from the page its in. So when you direct link the image, I just go to images tab and have to manually delete them. Although direct links help out with seeing what you want deleted. I can't take care of those images for now, since I REALLY need to get to bed. Sorry.

I think I get it. You go to All Images (or one of the galleries) to delete them. The links help you guys see what is to be deleted (both visually and the url, I guess). I wish the images had a # so that I could link to the image itself but in All Images, like /images/#pic1 so that the browser would scroll directly to the image... (But then again, maybe not, too much trouble just for that...)

As an aside, I guess, today there were a ton of MappleStory submissions while I was image modding. 99% of them were duplicates, or screens where the only difference was the speech bubbles on the characters, or the time on an on-screen timer. I had 14 open tabs in Firefox, to each of the pages of images in MappleStory, to be able to determine if they were duplicates or not. I'm afraid these duplicates will keep coming in, because it isn't easy to check if there is a duplicate in there. (Other mods were checking for duplicates, too.) Anyway, none of the rules for an acceptable image state that it shouldn't be a duplicate...

Also, there are times in the day when there are enough mods to approve / dissapprove images quite fast, so maybe while one / more mod(s)  is / are checking for duplicates the image might get approved anyway? (Before having the chance to comment on it. "Duplicate.") That is the impression I have, I don't know how the system works for sure.

Are more MappleStory images really necessary? I don't know that game, so I don't know if the screenshots there are really cover all there is to the game, or if people just take screenshots of the first areas or something.... Anyway, please forgive this off topic in this thread. Sorry about that.

In addition... I've followed the images of the uploader with the duplicate image and he has quite a few of duplicates in various other games. It's as if he goes to search engines, types the game name and downloads all images. Then comes here types the game name and uploads the image without seeing if it exists; as if he doesn't care about the game, just wanting to upload the image and move on.

For Operation Body Count  the images I uploaded are screenshots I took from me playing the game. I installed the game and spent the time to get the images.

Not to say that I don't want others to upload images, but to at least care to look and see what is up. But no, it's probably just "I want the points" attitude. I want the points too, but I want to contribute something good on top of that...


However... one other point I want to make is that the uploader I'm referring to, he uploaded a duplicate image in another game but it was actually of better quality than the already existing one. So what now? I don't know... someone complains and then both images are visually compared? and if you upload a duplicate of equal or lesser quality, you get a penalty of -100 points? and if your duplicate is better than the original, you don't win anything except that the other image is removed?

This is suppose to be the page for the Wii version of Samba de Amigo but the page's default image is the Dreamcast box art so someone needs to delete that.
