Please add "Marvelous USA, Inc." as an alias for XSEED Games. XSEED still publishes games under the XSEED brand but the company's official title now is Marvelous USA.

rename: Famicom Remix 1+2 -> NES Remix Pack

was just announced at SDCC for US release under that name. keep old name as alias.

rename: Super Smash Bros. -> Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/Nintendo 3DS

it's dumb but those are the game titles and as far as I know, we handle those dual-release game pages that way, right? I already proposed separate pages earlier since both games have different content and modes but nobody was up for it due to both being marketed together.

Edit: Mostly done, I guess I don't know how to make alias changes actually stick.

@mooseymcman: Just that one? There's a whole page's worth of renaming/aliases that needs to be seen to :o Also, you forgot the Boxman alias.

Frankly I think it's a little odd why there's such a high barrier for editing page titles and adding aliases in the first place really. Sure, for new editors naturally they should first wait for the assistance of a moderator. But veteran editors could surely be trusted to make these decisions on their own, especially given how long it can sometimes take for the requests to be processed. It seems particularly strange when you consider that we can create as many pages as we want, yet we can't edit the title or add aliases?..

#1164 Posted by MooseyMcMan (11458 posts) -

@yummylee: Well, I've only been a mod for a few hours. And I tried setting the alias, it didn't want to stick. Sorry! Still new to all this, maybe I should have waited a while before getting into this.

Alias: Prowling Demon -> Titanite Demon

Rename: Games once banned but not anymore -> Unbanned Games

I realize that could also be read as "games that have never been banned", but I like to believe most users are not quite stupid enough to use it that way.

Transylvania is spelt wrong in Spike in Transilvania, you can see it spelt the mundane way on the title screen screenshot on page front.

Please add the alias Senjou no Enbukyoku for Senjou no Waltz. 'Enbukyoku' translates to waltz in Japanese.

these were not addressed while others were. the Anno page was supposed to be renamed, not just aliased.

Moosey, if you take care of requests, please post here once you're done with them so there's a break and starting point for the next set.

Can we rename Games once banned but not anymore to something less clunky? Like Previously Banned, maybe?

y u no likey my clunky name? :)

but yea, Previously Banned should've been the obvious choice ...for some reason my head went to clunky last night. sorry :)

Please rename Re:Viced to RE:VICE[D]. The capitalization and brackets are used on the official website.

@def: I probably won't be doing anything here very often. I just got caught up in the sudden influx of mod powers, and didn't follow the proper procedure. Sorry!

Please add the following as aliases:

Hylia > Alias for Zelda

Demise > Alias for Ganon

Reasoning behind spoiler tag:

Hylia and Demise are the original incarnations of Zelda and Ganon, as explained in Skyward Sword.

Name Change:

Kakashi ----> Kakashi Hatake

Pretty much all of the other characters of this series have their surnames in the article title, when known

Alias:

Unko Enzan ----- Poo Math

Even though the game's still all in Japanese, if you access the Play Store from an English-speaking country/portal you get the name Poo Math.

shouldn't that be a rename instead of an alias if Clockwork is their new name?!

this rename request was overlooked. rename from Spike in Transylvania to Spike in Transilvania.

(rename) Avoid Droid -> Don't Die, Mr. Robot! (new name)

this should probably have kept an "Avoid Droid" alias, shouldn't it?

It wasn't overlooked. The page was originally spelled Transilvania and the user requested it changed to Transylvania.

It's a bit of an odd one as they use Transylvania on the title screen while the box art uses Transilvania. The title now reflects the name as it's given in-game.

Rename: Izalith -> Lost Izalith

Lost Izalith is the name of the actual in-game area (it pops up in the middle of the screen when you enter it). "Non-lost" Izalith doesn't exist in the game.

Toaru Majutsu no Index should have these two aliases added:

  • To Aru Majutsu no Index: It's very common to split that word up in romanization.
  • A Certain Magical Index: This is the official English name for the franchise, and what I imagine most people would use to search for this game.

Rename: Starship Troopers Online > Starship Troopers: Battlespace

If there's any evidence that the game was ever released under the title Starship Troopers Online, maybe that could be added as an alias. But on Google the only non-spam result I get for that title is the Giant Bomb page itself. Even this screenshot on the GB page says "Starship Troopers: Battlespace" though.

Alias: Barbarian II and Barbarian 2 for Axe of Rage, released as such in UK as sequel to Barbarian (Death Sword in US, the Palace Software series. Psygnosis had a different Barbarian and Barbarian 2, off to try to unfuck the images between the four now, wish me luck...)

#1194 Posted by Hailinel (25203 posts) -

Balrog and Vega should have the aliases Boxer and Claw, respectively. The international fighting community uses those terms for those characters to avoid confusion. (M. Bison is Dictator, but that's already on his page.)

#1198 Posted by InfiniteSpark (314 posts) -

Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!! --> AH3LM (alias)

And following up on Hailinel's post, do add two more exclamation points to the game title. (My bad.)
