I hope that @brad has his fireteam informed to not spoil the solutions immediately? When I did the Raid, I was doing it with all people who were doing it their first time as well and discovering the solutions to battles was one of the most enjoyable things I've did in that game. It is what makes the Raid so good. Obviously, they'll have to tell him the solution eventually, otherwise he'd be busy for 8 hours. But I hope we get to see him be flabbergasted for a bit as well and it won't be wasted on him.

You guys going to watch it? I know I will. Really psyched.

Ya, I know. He announced it on UPF and possibly on the podcast (I forget). He mentioned it on twitter (which I saw on the homepage once) too.

I'm actually excited to see that even though I don't actually care at all about Destiny. I do enjoy watching people raid something for the first time. I had a ton of fun raiding in World of Warcraft when I was in college.

I think their intent is to discover the raid for the first time on their own. We'll see, but I don't believe they intend to cheese or "walkthrough" it.

I'll watch it if I can find a group to do the raid with first. I haven't done it yet. :(

Would like to watch up to the first boss.
Figured it out with 6 first timers (including myself) but ran out of time to take out the boss.

I'm actually really looking forward to this. And I love the fact that Jeff is going to be there.

I don't know man, especially the last boss can take significant time to figure out. Some people actually never get there.

@zevvion: Well presumably the other 4 people will know what to do, do they just fall over and die or act retarded if instructed to? Just seems weird overall; if they had 6 people going in blind that would work. "Some people" just eventually look at youtube.

It's 5 people who haven't done it and Giancarlo from gamespot. He did it once and followed the instruction of his team. He could guide them through it since some parts are really out of left field (only the 3 farthest people get teleported... what?) but I hope he doesn't give too much away.

The only part I see being really obscure and frustrating without directions is the stealth section. The rest isnt that hard to figure out with enough trial and error.

Personally I dont think Jeff will like it that much. It's been hyped up too much for him. I think Brad will love it though, he seems to enjoy weird 'fuck you' shifts from convention.

This seems pretty hype. I beat the raid boss because I dropped in at the very end, but I want to see it from start to end.

@humanity: Got to be 26. At the end of the fight you won't even be able to damage some of the enemies.

Brad will love it reguardless, but if Jeff is going in at 26 he may not have such a good time (it's much easier to be one shotted towards the end of the raid because enemies are 27). I tried it today with everyone being level 27, 28, 29 and first timers, we made it to the last boss and called it for the day after numerous deaths. It was a blast with new environments, enemies and some really interesting machanics. compared the the "Raids" in borderlands 2 which was just a who could cheese who faster, you or the boss. you have to work as a team otherwise you'll have trouble even getting into the actual raid area. Some of the funnest FPS gameplay i have ever played in my opinion.

Me and a team got stuck on Atheon at the end. Level 27 would be the lowest unless you have several 29 people that can carry the team. Hopefully Brad's group has some high levels with good gear.

My brain cannot comprehend the idea of Jeff taking a hardcore teamwork oriented video game experience seriously. The notion of him speaking tactically with other people he's playing a game with simply doesn't compute, and I can't wait to see how he handles it.

i have this game and have only played a tiny bit of it. i feel like i've missed the zeitgeist. how the hell do you people keep up with this shit? i'm kind of tipsy.

You will be severely underleveled at 25 though. I don't think it would be that much fun to you. Can't you reach 26? I'm open to doing it though.

@zevvion: yah I was mostly joking. I'd love to take part but realize that at 25 is be more of a hindrance than help. I really have no way to get to 27 or even 26 any time soon unless I get legendary boots and gloves somehow. I'm 25 with almost fully leveled up gear and the bar is just at the beginning.

Well, the video's going up at 4 a.m. my time, so... uh, guess I'm pulling an all-nighter.

Brad probably has the patience for this, but I really can't see Jeff having anywhere near enough. Plus at 26 he'll be down constantly and he'll feel like he's not helping, and he mostly won't be. I'd say lvl 27-28 is a min. to be helpful/effective on normal and 29 for hard. I was basically escorted through normal Friday night at mid lvl 28 by some XBL friends that're 29s and 30s and there was plenty of dying by all players. It is daunting and very confusing often. I wish them luck though and hope they enjoy it regardless. Also a few hints or tips is ok imo. It might get too brutal and no fun w/o a little help.

Oh and btw, it may be the case that Bungie tuned the diff up on the VoG in that last update. The guys seemed to think so.

Jeff will only be in trouble starting at the stage just before the second boss. Everything before that is either lvl 25 or 26. Anyway, once they figure out what to do it's really not that hard.

Let me tell you what's hard: VoG hard mode. That fucking thing is ridiculous.
