Good Luck everyone, If There are any matchups waiting for me tomorrow I will be on by 1:00pm PST at the latest.

Enjoy the rest of the tourney guys, I took a very early and swift exit. I was placed into losers after waiting until nearly 4am for my opponent and couldn't stay awake any longer and then in my losers bracket fight my opponent played as Baz and basically fuck Baz.

I beat Flux in the first round, then he disqualifies me out of winners after I had to be an hour after deadline because of my job even though my opponent agreed to wait for me.. Then he disqualifies me out of losers after my opponent doesn't accept my PSN friend request (with GB divekick in the message) for the 14 hours up to the deadline.

Great tournament, great experience.

Winning your own tournament?

Clearly the brackets were rigged. Mr.N would be proud.

Great tournament! Congrats to @handsome_phil and @esrever for making 3rd and 2nd, respectively, and to @fluxwavez for winning his own tournament and sending me home with my second 4th place in a row. Good times, good games! Enjoy your loot!

Posting this for posterity's sake:

Screw off, seriously. It's hard enough to organize these things without people who clearly don't give a shit like you blaming me for their troubles.

Heh, well I usually tend to organize FG tournaments for games I'm very much invested in (though it still feels weird to take my own tournament).

Hope most had fun with it despite having to hand out way more disqualifications in this tournament compared to past ones I've organized. Kind of turns me off of the prospect of organizing another, but we'll see.

Good games to everyone! The tournament was a blast and I hope to see more in the future, but with less DQs. Hopefully we'll have lobbies by then :P

Did not expect to get 2nd in this, but it was pretty clear who the better player was in the end. Was not able to take a match off Flux's S-Kill in GF.

Also, my appetite hates you Flux. I need to figure out how to deal with these tourny nerves...

I hope you do another Divekick tournament, Flux. I really wanted to participate in this. Sucks that the one time I go to something on the weekend coincided with this tournament, but what can you do about it. I'm glad you decided to host this one, thanks for putting up with all the crap to organize it.

Losing first round then getting dq-ed isn't quite how I'd hoped it would go. Hopefully there'll be another at some point and I'll try and do better. Thanks for setting it up regardless.

@wastrel: That sucks man. I was going to be playing against you so worked out for me i guess, but I've been there before and it sucks.

It's not a fighting game tournament without some drama!

#316 Posted by ImperiousRix (2963 posts) -

Coming from somebody who participated in SFIV tournaments here on GB, I DO know there's a tendency for everybody to WANT to play, but not necessarily being available to play or not really being all that committed to whether they actually show up or not. It's a problem, but it's one that always happens in some capacity or another.

EITHER WAY; hope everybody had fun and I hope to be involved in one in the future.

Definitely had a blast with the tourney, and hope there's more in the future.

Had fun! Thanks to @fluxwavez for the awesome tournament. All my opponents showed up, and everyone was very cordial. Couldn't have asked for more. Will be coming back for more punishment if there's another DK tournament.

Aw man, I just saw that image for the first time and my heart just sank. Even if the circumstances can be objectively in my favor, I still feel bad for being to any degree responsible for the issue. I wish I could extent my deepest apologies to @methodman008 but I see the discussion got heated as they tend to do on the internet and there's no guaranteeing how much it would mean. I don't blame anyone but myself and I fully respect any opinion he may have towards me. That weekend was hectic for me as I was getting ready to move back into school and it is entirely within my capabilities to be wrong and forget things that I did do what was claimed. If this is the moment I am thinking of, then I want to say I did indeed make the mistake of not checking my friend requests before going to bed. By the time I got to the next day it was all practically out of my hands and I had to make the decision to focus on moving in. With that said, the past is in the past and at this point there's nothing more I can do than apologize. Believe me though, I don't feel good about what happened regardless of who is in the right.

Back to the tournament in general, again thank you to @fluxwavez for putting on the tournament and subsequently setting the stage of the PC tournament. It gave me probably more stress than I should have had but it forced me into having a great journey in a fighting game in a rather short time, mostly to do with the pressure to train for the tournament week-of. I don't envy being a TO I'll say that much.

@fluxwavez: We should really have another Divekick tournament soon.

@fluxwavez: We should really have another Divekick tournament soon.

Not sure if the game's popular enough anymore for it to even be worth it now.

#330 Edited by PsychoPenguin (160 posts) -

I missed the first one but I'd be down for a tournament :D

#331 Edited by mosespippy (4112 posts) -

I would play more Divekick. I basically haven't played since the first tournament since matchmaking was taking like 15 minutes to find a game even though there were plenty of people available. I think they eventually fixed that in a patch but I never got around to returning. It also doesn't help that I've realized my character is not top tier and I'll need to learn someone else.
