Help with Class Specialization

This may be considered light spoilers, so I'll block out a couple things.

I'm a warrior. I want to take the Templar Specialization, but Cassandra Won't prompt the conversation to give me the Writing I need, and everything I've looked up says she has it. Anyone know if I'm missing something?

You might have to develop Skyhold a bit further? I know as a Mage who went Knight Enchanter I needed a book from Viv, but she had to get her room first before it appeared there. Also the book was actually an item on the ground, not obtained from her personally, at least in that case.

@bombedyermom: The character isn't holding it. it should be laying in the area she stands.
