Congrats to @bigjeffrey for winning the Xbox banner vote. He had a narrow victory over aurahack's VHS banner which took 2nd place. bigjeffrey actually also tied for 3rd place (Sunset Overdrive banner) with face15's animated Xbox bomb.

The Official E3 2014 Microsoft Press Conference Discussion

It's officially E3 time, duders! If you haven't experienced the insanity of E3 before, the show starts off with press conferences from each of the three console makers as well as a few of the largest publishers in the industry. These presentations are prime real estate for game announcements, debut trailers, live gameplay demonstrations, and meme origins.

In an attempt to keep the E3 shenanigans organized, the mods institute these official discussion threads for each conference so that everybody has a go-to place to discuss them before, during, and after the show.

Discussion involving the other company's conferences should be taken to their respective threads (once they're posted). Well, hopefully they announce a shitton of cool new games, but I feel the former's more realistic. Hopefully I can make it back from the vet before the show starts.

I'm going to bet that Microsoft are going to start bundling all Xbox Ones with Kinect...again.

Oh god I hope not. They need to start breaking away from the Kinect as much as they can. That thing is literal dead weight now.

MS closes with a Last Guardian onstage gameplay demo. Game comes out exclusively for XONE in fall 2014.

I really want to know what the new Microsoft strategy is. Will it be the same "this is the all-in-one media device" push, even though they made the Kinect optional or will they go into the games territory a little bit further?

@evanfavreau: I think Crackdown 3 has a bigger chance of being revealed than Fallout 4 based on recent comments from Bethesda.

@steadyingmeat: Yeah, probably, totally... but I dunno, in my gut I feel like Fallout 4 could happen, despite whatever they have said publicly. Maybe just wishful thinking.

I really only have two big things that I think need to come out of the conference.

The first is that Phil Spencer needs to establish that he is truly the right man to right the ship that has been a disastrous PR year for the Xbox brand. Phil is a Microsoft career man, but the times that he was front and center he shown to be a lot more likable and human than Mattrick and the other suits that Microsoft would parade out since Moore left for EA.

Second, they need to show off stuff that will fill that box in 2014. We already know that Sunset Overdrive is coming, as well as Halo something and Forza, but that is a pretty slim offering when looked at more closely. I would like that 2014 not be remembered as a slim as hell year.

Okay, now the video player is just black when I hit play and it doesnt let me change quality options (which makes me think its broken). The only reason Im bringing this stuff up is because Im on a different internet connection than usual, and its been pretty spotty since we got it. Also, are they broadcasting their streams on twitch?
