Can I add aliases to objects?

I want to add an alias to an object called STG 77 which is more commonly known by as a Steyr AUG. I don't see any place on the page for aliases, so I'm not sure if I can change it. At the current state, the page refers to a gun specifically for SOCOM, but I want to expand it for a general shooter audience rather than making another object of the same thing with a different name.

On a side note, the page says the weapon debuted in SOCOM 3, and that is not the case as there are connected games that came out before then, but I'm not totally sure what the FIRST instance of this object was. Rather than guess, I would like to delete the snippet that says it debuted in SOCOM 3, but I can't. What should I do?

I don't think you can fix this at the moment. Let's hope this thread gets noticed.

Currently, only staff have the ability to add aliases to anything, no doubt in an attempt to keep the searches as accurate as possible.
I'm not sure what the proper procedure is for reporting any changes you'd like to see made, you could try letting one of them know by PM though.

I really think it should just be called Steyer AUG, STG 77 is just the name the Austrians gave it? Or is there variant or whatever.

Yeah, STG 77 was the name the Austrian Army used. And I guess I didn't think about changing the name of it itself.

 Yeah, they disabled alias support for now, although they said it might go back in for high-scoring users soon.

I would also be interested to know what the procedure is for requesting a new alias. Who should I contact with the request? Thanks...

Only the staff can change aliases now to keep searches from going off topic, so you'd have to contact them.

that sux that staff can only add aliases now i have so many aliases for games.

You should be able to do it once you get to 8000 points or something haha
