Developer information request

Can anyone help out this guy with vetting these games and/or adding them to the database? I'm not entirely sure if all of these are actually available, or what.

In addition, we have bought the rights of several other games, some of them

are on listed on your site.

However I would like to request the games to be updated.

We would be publishing these games in both cartridge and Digital format.

We currently hold rights for:

So, these guys that produce carts for older consoles have acquired the publishing rights to a few old games, and they want the wiki updated with them as a publisher? I'm not sure how I feel about it. This seems like a marketing push, and I'm not even confident about the degree to which they actually own the publishing rights.

Also, there are already updates from them in the wiki queue awaiting approval, so I'm not sure why we actually need a thread about this. The wiki mods will investigate the claim and make the call.

Isn't the whole point of the wiki that anyone can update it. Why don't they just do it themselves?

Did someone hack @rorie's account? This seems super shady and I'm not sure why Rorie would care so much to make a thread about it?

Yea, this is a really, really odd post by @rorie....

Also the guy who requested it from Piko can also make the changes themselves since the Wiki is community driven anyway but would just have to wait on mods getting it approved. He probably doesn't even realize that the most of the people who made wiki entries or making edits are not necessarily working for the site anyway.

The lack of puppies makes me oddly suspicious.

Why would someone go to the trouble of hacking an account to make such a bizarre request?

Don't get paranoid, guys. I get these requests a fair amount through the support email address and I usually like putting them in the hands of people who edit the wiki day in and day out rather than doing the vetting myself. I'm not as hands-on with the wiki editing as I probably should be, so I leave it to the pros (specifically the wiki mods who'll have to approve it anyway) to give this stuff a yay/nay before any work gets done on it. I don't particularly care if any of these games are in the wiki or not, but if they live up to the standards that we have and someone wants to earn some points for adding them in, then feel free. I always let the people who send this stuff in know that they can edit the wiki themselves, but few of them take me up on the offer.

Actually, it looks like most if not all of these are already in the database. A good chunk if not all of them appear to be unlicensed (Super Noah's Ark 3-D was even on the front page of the site last week, bizarrely enough).

If that's the case, then disregard! This was part of an email sent to multiple sites; I was only passing it along in case any of these were valid entries that we don't have.

@rorie: Think it's partly to do with the way the post is formatted that people are getting paranoid Rorie :)
