I want to know how many points I'll get for editing/submitting certain things. I know submitting images for video games gives you two points, but how many points do you get for submitting release dates, characters, locations, etc?
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else.
Question: Submitting what gives you what points?
Write up good, quality articles. We need moar writers. I'm not that great at writing though, so I shouldn't be the one to talk >_>
Screenshots give three if you add it to both of the Screenshot galleries. Because you get one per gallery, and All Images counts as well.
A release date is one point; a gender, real name, birthday, etc. are one point. Adding a game, character, location, genre, theme, friend, or any other sort of link between pages counts as two points: one for each of the pages.
For wiki editing, I believe it depends on how much has been changed.
For words put into an article, someone said about 1 point for every 10 words.
Just don't try to point farm, they're on to that
Is there any kind of specific system to this? My Neo page has more information, pictures and hotlinks than MattBodega's Conker's Bad Fur Day page and yet it's work like 1/8th of the point value. This probably sounds like i'm bitching or something when i'm not, i'm just interested in the criteria.

The best thing is find a concept or make a concept that applies to many games like I made a character select screen concept. I attatched it to as many games as I could think of. I applied it to games i never played but just new had them. With I got 180 points on that page. and 180 points from all the other pages atatcthed to them. Thats liuke what 20 min? then I went on wikipedia found a list of all mk characters and added all of them, all sf characters any character you can think of. and now i currently have over 580something points on that page alone. not to mention double that for the real amount of points i got from working on that one page. I dont write articles for points because there not great. I jsut write articles about games I feel I can give a good in depth analysis for.
"Endogene said:Nah, it's because of any early site bug that gave absurd points for articles written in word and copied onto GB. It's been fixed now, but the point counts it inflated haven't been fixed, and probably never will be."HandsomeDead said:Ah, right. Cheers.""Is there any kind of specific system to this? Yeah I have over 5000 points in super smash bros melee page. not because of the bug but because often times people will keep editing the page to change something.Thats why I always find it weird when peoepl say oh your points in so and so page are ridiculous because theres not that much info, well yeah cause anyone can delete it.
Adding captions to images doesn't yield any points, does it? That always seemed like a bit of an oversight, because you'd think that there would be as much importance to properly annotating the importance or relevance of each image as there is to uploading it and assigning it to galleries.
Slowly going through my backlog of uploads to add captions to shots to help clarify which level they were taken in and what's going on in them. Maybe that will help prevent silly oversights like seeing Cryptic Passage shots in the Blood entry and Redneck Rampage Rides Again shots in the Redneck Rampage gallery.
