I was using opera because my Firefox kept freezing, and I thought they should fix it for Opera. But now I'm back to FF so I don't care to be quite honest :p

Yeah, if you don't want to use IE, then that is perfectly fine. But the only alternative you should use is firefox.

But... isn't Opera a standards-compliant browser? How can it be different from FF when both of them follow the W3C standards...?

I don't blame them. Anyone who knows anything about coding websites knows that IE doesn't like to be compliant with coding standards, IE sets it's own rules and it's a pain in the butt to have to rework the code that works perfectly in Firefox and messes up in IE.

I used to primarily browse in Opera and used FF purely for development although I've had to switch over so Giant Bomb works properly.
Don't be so naive as to think Firefox is the best for everyone.
Opera, next to the base WebKit engine is the most standards compliant browser around, the main problem is that there are some uses of ECMAScript which were thrown together by IE and Netscape developers which Opera doesn't support as it isn't in the actual standard.

Perhaps the site uses some odd code that doesn't follow W3C standards.

No Opera, eh?  I'll have to try that on the Wii's browser... if I ever use it again.
